We establish that, under a (colored) Gaussian assumption on the transform domain host data, the same derived signature minimizes host distortion for any target message recovery error rate and maximizes the Shannon capacity of the covert steganographic link. Then, we derive jointly optimal signature and linear processor designs for SS embedding in linearly modified transform domain host data and demonstrate orders of magnitude improvement over current SS steganographic practices.

The congenital indirect hyperbilirubinemia is due to an autosomal recessive deficiency of the enzyme, uridine diphosphate glucuronosyl transferase (UDPGT). The inbred homozygous Gunn rat is also deficient in UDPGT, exhibits unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia, and is an excellent animal model of the Crigler-Najjar syndrome.

Lipoproteins from each subject were separated into six subfractions: VLDL, IDL, LDL, and three subfractions of HDL by a single gradient ultracentrifugation spin of less than 5 hr. The HDL subfractions were designated HDL-L (the lightest density subfraction, rich in apoCs and poor in apoA-II), HDL-M (the middle subfraction, rich in apoA-II), and HDL-D (the most dense, relatively poor in both the apoCs and apoA-II).

One peak, apoA-Ib had a relatively longer retention time on HPLC but its retention time could be shortened by treatment by hydrogen peroxide.
