Aim: To determine the risk of non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION) after cataract extraction (CE) in the fellow eye of patients with prior unilateral NAION.
Design: Retrospective, cohort study.
Methods: Medical records of patients with NAION evaluated in our institution between 1 January 1986 and 31 December 2001 were reviewed to determine the onset of NAION and the time of CE.
Purpose: To report a patient with CHARGE association (coloboma, heart disease, choanal atresia, growth retardation, genital hypoplasia, and ear abnormalities) who developed a choroidal neovascular membrane in association with an optic nerve coloboma.
Design: Interventional/observational case report.
Method: A 21-month-old boy with CHARGE association developed a grayish choroidal neovascular membrane associated with lipid exudation, subretinal fluid, and retinal hemorrhage at the temporal edge of his right optic nerve coloboma.
Purpose: To report a case of subperiosteal orbital and subgaleal hemorrhage with optic nerve compromise in a patient with a factor IX deficiency.
Design: Interventional case report.
Methods: A 5-year-old male presented 10 days after mild trauma with progressive left-sided scalp swelling, proptosis, and visual loss.
