The accelerated ripening and senescence of fruits and vegetables is characterized by various biochemical changes that hinder the maintenance of their postharvest quality. In this context, developing edible films and coatings formulated with natural and biodegradable materials emerges as a sustainable strategy for preserving the quality parameters of these products in replacement of conventional petroleum-based packaging. Recently, plant-based polymers, including mucilage from different cactus species and/or their bioactive compounds, have been investigated to develop edible films and coatings.

During their inaugural flights from colony to sea, fledglings become grounded after encountering artificial light. Such groundings, or fallout events, affect many fledglings each year, causing mass mortality events.

Noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) is largely used as a ventilatory support strategy after the interruption of invasive mechanical ventilation. However, the variables associated with NIPPV prescription are unclear.

Background: A deficit in neuromuscular trunk control can impact the lower limb motion, predisposing runners to injuries. This deficit may show a greater impact on runners with dynamic knee valgus. This study aimed to compare the effect of core fatigue on kinetic, kinematic, and electromyographic parameters of the trunk and lower limbs during single-leg drop landing between runners with and without dynamic knee valgus.

To ensure the safe execution of tasks by the robot, meticulous planning of its foot placements and precise leg control are crucial. Traditional motion planning and control methods for quadruped robots often rely on complex models of both the robot itself and its surrounding environment.

Method: This is a cross-sectional study with 526 adolescents aged 14 to 19. Data were collected virtually between July and September 2021 using a sociodemographic characterization questionnaire, clinical profile and the Health Literacy Assessment Tool - Portuguese version.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, RNA-seq datasets were produced to investigate the virus-host relationship. However, much of these data remains underexplored. To improve the search for molecular targets and biomarkers, we performed an integrated analysis of multiple RNA-seq datasets, expanding the cohort and including patients from different countries, encompassing severe and mild COVID-19 patients.

This research was conducted to evaluate the effects of the thermal environment on the physiological and behavioral responses of dairy cattle in a rotational picket. The research was conducted on an experimental farm, located in the Agreste region of the state of Pernambuco, Brazil.

Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL) is a Neglected Tropical Disease characterized by skin ulcers caused by spp. protozoans and there is no safe and effective vaccine to reduce its negative consequences. In a previous work by our group, we identified T cell epitopes of which stimulated patients' T cells in vitro.

Purpose: To evaluate and compare the effect of impression type (conventional vs digital) and the number of implants on the time from the impressions to the generation of working casts of mandibular implant-supported fixed complete-arch frameworks, as well as on patient satisfaction.
Materials And Methods: 17 participants, 3 or 4 implants, received 2 types of digital impression methods (DI) and conventional (CI). In DI, two techniques were performed: scanning with the scan bodies (SC) and scanning with a device attached to the scan bodies (SD) (BR 10 2019 026265 6).

This study aimed to assess Spirulina platensis, Chlorella vulgaris, Scenedesmus quadricauda, and Lagerheimia longiseta microalgae potential as protective agents for probiotic cultures [(Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-05) and Lacticaseibacillus casei (Lc-01)] during freeze-drying, refrigeration storage (4 °C, 120 days), and in vitro simulated gastrointestinal conditions (SGIC). The occurrence of membrane damage and ultrastructural aspects of the cells were also verified. Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) were used as a positive control and saline solution as a negative control.

Methods: Clinical data were collected from medical records and the histopathological grade of malignancy of OTSCCs was evaluated using the World Health Organization (WHO) grading system. The presence and distribution of MGC reaction in high power fields (HPFs) were evaluated in hematoxylin-eosin-stained histological sections.
Bullae autoimmune diseases can be induced by environmental factors in a genetically susceptible individual, and viruses may be important triggers for this process. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a multisystemic disease known for developing many types of skin lesions. However, little is known about post-COVID-19 manifestations.

Structure-Based Drug Design strategies based on docking methodologies have been widely used for both new drug development and drug repurposing to find effective treatments against this disease. In this work, we present the developments implemented in the DockThor-VS web server to provide a virtual screening (VS) platform with curated structures of potential therapeutic targets from SARS-CoV-2 incorporating genetic information regarding relevant non-synonymous variations.

However, it is not established whether the results of screening tests are affected by these factors in psoriasis patients.
Objectives: To determine whether there is a change in the results of the tuberculin skin test (TST) or the interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA) in psoriasis patients living in tuberculosis (TB)-endemic area after 12 weeks of methotrexate (MTX) treatment and to investigate the association of the test results with clinical and inflammatory markers.
Statement Of Problem: Parallel dental implants improve prosthesis longevity and facilitate the impression making steps when compared with angled implants. The effect of implant angulation on the accuracy of casts generated by using intraoral scanners has not been fully investigated.
Purpose: The present systematic review addressed following the patient, intervention, control, and outcome (PICO) question: Does implant position affect the intraoral scanning accuracy of arches that will receive complete-arch implant-supported fixed dental prostheses?
Material And Methods: A bibliographic search was performed in the Medline-PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases by using specific descriptors for studies published until July 2020.
There is a need for searching new microalgae species, and the most suitable strategy to increase the cost-effectiveness of a microalgae culture system is to use resources of low costs, such as residues. This study aimed to evaluate the cultivation of microalgae isolated from the Brazilian Northeast region (Lagerheimia longiseta, Monoraphidium contortum, and Scenedesmus quadricauda) in an alternative medium of low cost (biocompost of discarded fruits and vegetables) with a view to possible applications in the food industry. Microalgae cultivated in the conventional synthetic medium was used as control.

The initial colonization of the Americas remains a highly debated topic, and the exact timing of the first arrivals is unknown. The earliest archaeological record of Mexico-which holds a key geographical position in the Americas-is poorly known and understudied.
