Identification of risk factors for race day injury can improve greyhound welfare. Race day fractures are the most significant injury event and have the greatest negative impact on dog welfare and the industry's social license to operate. This study aimed to describe the incidence and risk factors for race-related fractures in greyhounds racing in Western Australia.

The objective of this review was to summarize and critically appraise randomized trials in mechanically ventilated patients in the ICU testing the effect of oral care strategies involving toothbrushing on ventilator-associated pneumonia.
Search Methods: We searched EMBASE, MEDLINE, and the Cochrane Controlled Trials Register and Database of Systematic Reviews from 1980 until March 2012, independently and in duplicate, as well as personal files and reference lists.
Background And Objectives: A better understanding of the pathogenesis of chronic postsurgical pain is needed in order to develop effective prevention and treatment interventions. The objective of this study was to evaluate the incidence and risk factors for chronic postsurgical pain in women undergoing gynecologic surgery.
Methods: Pain characteristics, opioid consumption, and psychologic factors were captured before and 6 months after surgery.
Background: Needle biopsy of the prostate is an important, common, invasive procedure. Little is known about men's perceptions of it. The present study was designed to assess men's experience of prostate biopsy, to determine the feasibility of a randomized trial of interventions to alleviate distress during prostate biopsy, and to develop a pragmatic outcome measure for such a trial.

Two previously undiscovered groups of genes encoding putative class II RHDs, designated the S and T clusters, were found in RHD different soil samples. Only one of 70 RHD gene fragments amplified from these soil samples could be assigned to a cluster of previously reported RHD genes.
