For the first time, we revealed the life-history traits including growth pattern (length-weight relationships, LWRs), condition factors, form factor (a), first sexual maturity (L), age at first sexual maturity (t), life span (t), natural mortality (M), asymptotic length (L), and optimum catchable length (L) of ten commercially important small indigenous fish species (SIFS) in the Oxbow lake (Baor), southwestern regions of Bangladesh. A total of 1651 specimens were sampled during January to December 2020 with traditional fishing gears including seine nets, gill nets, and lift nets. Individual total length (TL) and body weight (BW) were measured by digital slide calipers and digital balance, respectively.

In this study, we assessed intraspecific phenotypic plasticity in terms of meristic and morphometric characters of wild populations of elongate glassy perchlet, from two different rivers, namely Madhumati River - Narail (MRN) and Tulshiganga River - Jaypurhat (TRJ), and an ox-bow lake, - Jashore (JBJ) in Bangladesh.
Materials And Methods: In this study, six meristics, 15 conventional morphometrics, and 23-truss-based morphometrics were subjected to a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by the Tukey-HSD test.
This paper reports the effects of four popular cooking methods viz. grilling, boiling, frying, and microwaving on the proximate and nutritional compositions of freshwater mud eel (FWME) muscle. The moisture content of raw FWME muscle was 74.

Boluhorpur , Jhenaidah (BBJ) ( = 29); Bhairab River, Jashore (BRJ) ( = 34); Arial Khan River, Madaripur (AKRM) ( = 28), and Bohnni baor, Gopalganj (BBG) ( = 25) in Bangladesh.
Materials And Methods: Seven meristic characters were counted by using a needle.
Chromosomal and karyotypic studies are required for genetic improvement of any organisms. This study was performed to identify individual chromosomes on morphological basis and to characterize a standard karyotype using the fish, Rohu (Labeo rohita, Hamilton, 1822). Colchicine (0.
