This work demonstrates the use of jute stick extract as a reducing and stabilizing agent for the synthesis of spherical gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). In UV-Vis spectroscopy, peak at 550 nm was used to confirm the formation of AuNPs. The spherical surface morphology of AuNPs was determined through SEM and TEM analysis.

A wheat kinase and immune receptor form host-specificity barriers against the blast fungus.

Since emerging in Brazil in 1985, wheat blast has spread throughout South America and recently appeared in Bangladesh and Zambia. Here we show that two wheat resistance genes, Rwt3 and Rwt4, acting as host-specificity barriers against non-Triticum blast pathotypes encode a nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat immune receptor and a tandem kinase, respectively. Molecular isolation of these genes will enable study of the molecular interaction between pathogen effector and host resistance genes.

Structural-Guided Identification of Small Molecule Inhibitor of UHRF1 Methyltransferase Activity.

Ubiquitin-like containing plant homeodomain Ring Finger 1 (UHRF1) protein is recognized as a cell-cycle-regulated multidomain protein. UHRF1 importantly manifests the maintenance of DNA methylation mediated by the interaction between its SRA (SET and RING associated) domain and DNA methyltransferase-1 (DNMT1)-like epigenetic modulators. However, overexpression of UHRF1 epigenetically responds to the aberrant global methylation and promotes tumorigenesis.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of opioids for analgesic therapy for people with osteoarthritis.

Study Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised, placebo-controlled trials of opioid therapies for treating the pain of osteoarthritis. The primary outcome was medium term pain relief (six weeks to less than 12 months).

Safety and efficacy of human serum albumin treatment in patients with cirrhotic ascites undergoing paracentesis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Ascites is the most common presentation of decompensated liver cirrhosis. It is treated with therapeutic paracentesis which is associated with several complications. The role of human albumin in patients with cirrhotic ascites remains elusive and has been extensively studied with conflicting results.

Green Synthesis of Gold and Silver Nanoparticles by Using Tuber Extract and Evaluation of Their Antibacterial Activity.

In this report, we discussed rapid, facile one-pot green synthesis of gold and silver nanoparticles (AuNPs and AgNPs) by using tuber extract of , and evaluated their antibacterial activity. AuNPs and AgNPs were synthesized by mixing their respective precursors (AgNO and HAuCl) with tuber extract of as the bio-reducing agent. Characterization of AuNPs and AgNPs were confirmed by applying UV-vis spectroscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).
