Aqueous zinc-metal batteries (AZMBs) represent a promising frontier in battery technology, offering sustainable and safe alternatives to traditional non-aqueous batteries. Despite their potential, understanding the kinetics of zinc electrodeposition-a critical factor in AZMB performance-remains underexplored. Utilizing voltammetry on ultramicroelectrodes, we investigate how scan rate influences key processes of nucleation and growth during Zn electrodeposition.

ZnO nanostructures with tunable morphology were synthesized by the hydrothermal method from two ionic liquids (ILs), 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate [Cmim]CHCO and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [Cmim](CFSO)N and their corresponding double-salt ILs (DSILs). ILs served as soft templates. DSILs were noted for the production of smaller particle size along with uniformity compared to their pure IL counterparts.

The study was conducted to compare the quality and shelf life of traditionally dried (collected from the local markets) Bombay duck () with improved dried products (produced using a newly developed fish dryer) to assess its suitability. The quality of these products was evaluated through organoleptic, water reconstitution, nutritional, chemical, and microbiological characteristics. The organoleptic quality of improved dried fish was excellent while those produced traditionally were with grayish and dark brown color, rancid odor, and soft and fragile texture with insect infestation.

Background And Aim: Bovine tuberculosis (bTB) is an infectious disease of cattle, mainly caused by Mycobacterium bovis. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) assay and single-intradermal comparative tuberculin test (SICTT) in detecting bTB.

Materials And Methods: In an earlier study, 150 positive, 83 inconclusive, and 480 negative animals from 24 cattle herds were screened using SICTT.

Nanostructured ZnO with controllable morphology was prepared by a hydrothermal method in the presence of three different hydrophilic ionic liquids (ILs), 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium methylsulfate, ([Cmim]CHSO), 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium methylsulfate, ([Cmim]CHSO) and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethylsulfate, ([Cmim]CHSO) as soft templates. The formation of ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) with and without IL was verified using FT-IR and UV-visible spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) patterns indicated the formation of pure crystalline ZnO with a hexagonal wurtzite phase.

Objective: Develop a reliable, automated deep learning-based method for accurate measurement of penile curvature (PC) using 2-dimensional images.

Materials And Methods: A set of nine 3D-printed models was used to generate a batch of 913 images of penile curvature (PC) with varying configurations (curvature range 18° to 86°). The penile region was initially localized and cropped using a YOLOv5 model, after which the shaft area was extracted using a UNet-based segmentation model.

Hand gesture recognition is one of the most widely explored areas under the human-computer interaction domain. Although various modalities of hand gesture recognition have been explored in the last three decades, in recent years, due to the availability of hardware and deep learning algorithms, hand gesture recognition research has attained renewed momentum. In this paper, we evaluate the effectiveness of a low-cost dataglove for classifying hand gestures in the light of deep learning.

An intelligent insole system may monitor the individual's foot pressure and temperature in real-time from the comfort of their home, which can help capture foot problems in their earliest stages. Constant monitoring for foot complications is essential to avoid potentially devastating outcomes from common diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Inspired by those goals, the authors of this work propose a full design for a wearable insole that can detect both plantar pressure and temperature using off-the-shelf sensors.

The reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test is considered the current gold standard for the detection of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), although it suffers from some shortcomings, namely comparatively longer turnaround time, higher false-negative rates around 20-25%, and higher cost equipment. Therefore, finding an efficient, robust, accurate, and widely available, and accessible alternative to RT-PCR for COVID-19 diagnosis is a matter of utmost importance. This study proposes a complete blood count (CBC) biomarkers-based COVID-19 detection system using a stacking machine learning (SML) model, which could be a fast and less expensive alternative.

Tai Chi has been proven effective in preventing falls in older adults, improving the joint function of knee osteoarthritis patients, and improving the balance of stroke survivors. However, the effect of Tai Chi on human gait dynamics is still less understood. Studies conducted in this domain only relied on statistical and clinical measurements on the time-series gait data.

Partner and Localizer of BRCA2 or PALB2 is a typical tumor suppressor protein, that responds to DNA double stranded breaks through homologous recombination repair. Heterozygous mutations in PALB2 are known to contribute to the susceptibility of breast and ovarian cancer. However, there is no comprehensive study characterizing the structural and functional impacts of SNPs located in the PALB2 gene.

We assessed zoonotic tuberculosis (zTB) knowledge and prevention and control practices of 404 cattle handlers via a survey in three dairy-intensive districts of Bangladesh. Most respondents were aged 30-49 (52%) and male (95%). Almost all (99%) recognized the important public health burden of tuberculosis in Bangladesh, however, most (58%) had inadequate knowledge about zTB transmission to humans.

Introduction: Meningiomas of the tuberculum sellae and planum sphenoidale represent a subgroup of anterior skull base tumors that comprise approximately 5%-10% of all intracranial meningiomas. Most of the patients report with failing vision, so early surgical decompression either transcranial and/or endonasal approach is recommended. The endonasal route allows for direct coagulation of the tumor meningeal supply and extensive resection of dural attachments, and importantly, provides an inferior to superior access to the infrachiasmatic region that facilitates complete tumor removal without encountering the optic nerve.
