Background: Severe acute malnutrition (SAM) can be diagnosed using weight-for-height Z-score (WHZ) and/or mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC). Although some favor using MUAC alone, valuing its presumed ability to identify children at greatest need for nutritional care, the functional severity and physiological responses to treatment in children with varying deficits in WHZ and MUAC remain inadequately characterized.
Objective: We aimed to compare clinical and biochemical responses to treatment in children with 1) both low MUAC and low WHZ, 2) low MUAC-only, and 3) low WHZ-only.
The dataset extensively examines the factors considered when choosing sweet potato genotypes, considering various characteristics. Notably, Moz1.15 demonstrated the highest marketable root yield at 46.

The result revealed that BARI Mistialu-12 exhibited the highest average storage root yield at 45.35 t/ha, closely followed by BARI Mistialu-16 at 44.

Carried out in Bangladesh, the research assesses the survival status, grain yield, and stress tolerance indices of 40 sesame genotypes, revealing that twelve of them demonstrated resilience under 72 h of waterlogging stress at the pre-flowering stage. There were variations in genotypic grain yield, and G15 exhibited the highest yields, recording 5.

We have developed DM509 which acts concurrently as a farnesoid X receptor agonist and a soluble epoxide hydrolase inhibitor and investigated DM509 efficacy as an interventional treatment using the unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) mouse model.
Methods: Male mice went through either UUO or sham surgery.
A study was conducted in five regions of Bangladesh, specifically Gazipur, Bogura, Jamalpur, Jashore, and Chattogram, each characterized by suitable agro-ecologies for sweet potato cultivation. The purpose of this data article was to demonstrate the correlations between traits and the selection of stable varieties based on the multi-trait stability index (MTSI). The data indicated a direct link between multiple characteristics and both the yield and factors contributing to yield.

Available actual and adjusted census data (1974-2022) of the Bangladesh population were applied in the well-known autonomous logistic population growth model and found that all data sets of the logistic (exact), Atangana-Baleanu-Caputo (ABC) fractional-order derivative approach, and logistic multi-scaling approximation fit with good agreement. Again, the existence and uniqueness of the solution for fractional-order and Hyers-Ulam stability have been studied.

There is evidence that a long-term consequence of recovery from ureter obstruction is an increased risk for salt-sensitive hypertension. A reversal unilateral ureteral obstruction (RUUO) model was used to study long-term kidney injury and salt-sensitive hypertension.

We investigated the action of the dual modulator, PTUPB, a soluble epoxide hydrolase and cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor against diabetic nephropathy.
Experimental Approach: Sixteen-week-old type 2 diabetic and proteinuric obese ZSF1 rats were treated with vehicle, PTUPB or enalapril for 8 weeks.
Background And Objectives: Use of mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) as a single screening tool for severe acute malnutrition (SAM) assumes that children with a low weight-for-height score (WHZ) and normal MUAC have lower risks of morbidity and mortality. However, the pathophysiology and functional severity associated with different anthropometric phenotypes of SAM have never been well characterized. We compared clinical characteristics, biochemical features, and health and nutrition histories of nonedematous children with SAM who had (1) low WHZ only, (2) both low WHZ and low MUAC, or (3) low MUAC only.

This study monitored a suburban industrial zone located beside the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) at the Dhaka district in Bangladesh. We studied the heavy metal (Fe, Mn, Cr, Cu, Ni, Co, Zn, Pb, and Cd) concentration in the agricultural soils, plants, and in the atmospheric particulate matter (PM).

Even though a two-terminal TiO/GaN chemiresistor is highly sensitive to NO, it suffers from lack of selectivity toward NO and SO. Here, a Si back gate with C-AlGaN as the gate dielectric was demonstrated as a tunable parameter, which enhances discrimination of these cross-sensitive gases at room temperature (20 °C).

In the last two decades, GaN nanostructures of various forms like nanowires (NWs), nanotubes (NTs), nanofibers (NFs), nanoparticles (NPs) and nanonetworks (NNs) have been reported for gas sensing applications. In this paper, we have reviewed our group's work and the works published by other groups on the advances in GaN nanostructures-based sensors for detection of gases such as hydrogen (H), alcohols (R-OH), methane (CH), benzene and its derivatives, nitric oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO), sulfur-dioxide (SO), ammonia (NH), hydrogen sulfide (HS) and carbon dioxide (CO). The important sensing performance parameters like limit of detection, response/recovery time and operating temperature for different type of sensors have been summarized and tabulated to provide a thorough performance comparison.

The Cholera-Hospital-based-Intervention-for-7-Days (CHoBI7) is a health facility-initiated water treatment and handwashing with soap intervention designed to reduce transmission of diarrheal diseases between patients and their household members. The present research aimed to (1) develop a scalable approach to integrate the CHoBI7 intervention program into services provided at government and private health facilities in Bangladesh; and (2) tailor the intervention program for the household members of all diarrhea patients, irrespective of the etiology of disease.

In low-income countries, weaning is a period of dietary transition from milk to plant-based foods and a high-risk period for malnutrition. We explored how diet and malnutrition impact hair δN and δC in young children by an observational, cross-sectional study in Cox's Bazar District, Bangladesh [255 children, 6-59 months with 19.

In this work, a highly sensitive and selective detection of nitrogen dioxide (NO) has been demonstrated by functionalizing gallium nitride (GaN) submicron wire with titania (TiO) nanoclusters. The two-terminal GaN/TiO sensor device was fabricated by top-down approach.

Reliable detection of various gases in low concentration is mandatory in the fields such as industrial plants, environmental monitoring, air quality assurance, automotive technologies and so on. In this paper, the recent advances in electrochemical sensors for toxic gas detections were reviewed and summarized with a focus on NO₂, SO₂ and H₂S gas sensors.

Cyclooxygenase metabolites are products of an arachidonic acid enzymatic pathway that has been extensively studied in regards to renal function. Two lesser-known enzymatic pathways of arachidonic acid metabolism are the lipoxygenase (LO) and cytochrome P450 (CYP) pathways.

We utilized zinc-finger nuclease technology to create A(2B)AR gene (Adora2b)-disrupted rats on the Dahl salt-sensitive (SS) genetic background. This strategy yielded a rat strain (SS-Adora2b mutant rats) with a 162-base pair in-frame deletion of Adora2b that included the start codon.
