Background: Cognitive therapy for PTSD (CT-PTSD) is an efficacious treatment for children and adolescents with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following single incident trauma, but there is a lack of evidence relating to this approach for youth with PTSD following exposure to multiple traumatic experiences.

Aims: To assess the safety, acceptability and feasibility of CT-PTSD for youth following multiple trauma, and obtain a preliminary estimate of its pre-post effect size.

Method: Nine children and adolescents (aged 8-17 years) with multiple-trauma PTSD were recruited to a case series of CT-PTSD.

The secondary or sporadic form of the disease can be triggered by a multitude of infections, malignancies, and autoimmune disorders. Tuberculosis is commonly involved as a trigger for hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis.

Background And Purpose: Obstructive sleep apnea is associated with increased dementia risk. Nocturnal hypoxemia, which can be more severe during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, may be a key mechanism. This study examines how REM hypoxemia affects memory and explores whether hippocampal vulnerability to hypoxemia mediates this effect in older adults at risk for dementia.

"Corymbiform" is a term found in medical literature as early as 1876 to describe a central larger lesion with smaller surrounding lesions, leading to the appearance of an irregular border. While the term in current medical literature most often describes a possible morphology of secondary syphilis, the authors have noted this pattern presenting in other cutaneous conditions. We present a commentary on the corymbiform pattern in dermatology including a series of photographs of cutaneous disorders presenting in a corymbiform morphology in pediatric patients.

Alterations in these spindles are emerging as sensitive biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases of ageing. Understanding the clinical presentations associated with spindle alterations may help to elucidate the functional role of these distinct electroencephalographic oscillations and the pathophysiology of sleep and neurodegenerative disorders.

Encouraging sustainable use of limited natural, social, and economic resources requires understanding the variety of ways in which people think about how resources work and how they adjust their behaviour (or not) as available resources fluctuate. Previous investigations which have focused on understanding how individuals navigate erodible resources, have tended to use group-based, common pool games. However, such social games make it difficult to disentangle whether resource erosion is linked to difficulty navigating the dynamics of the resource or caused by social factors.

Heart rate variability during slow wave sleep is linked to functional connectivity in the central autonomic network.

Reduced heart rate variability can be an early sign of autonomic dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases and may be related to brain dysfunction in the central autonomic network. As yet, such autonomic dysfunction has not been examined during sleep-which is an ideal physiological state to study brain-heart interaction as both the central and peripheral nervous systems behave differently compared to during wakefulness. Therefore, the primary aim of the current study was to examine whether heart rate variability during nocturnal sleep, specifically slow wave (deep) sleep, is associated with central autonomic network functional connectivity in older adults 'at-risk' of dementia.

Study Design And Setting: PEIRS-22 previously captured quantitative evaluation data from 15 patient partners in a self-study of the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) Evidence Alliance. Guided by deliberative dialogue, the current study involved 3 steps: (1) In-depth analysis and interpretation of the PEIRS-22 data produced a lay evidence summary with identified areas for improvement of meaningful engagement; (2) A 3-hour virtual workshop with patient partners and researchers generated initial recommendations; and (3) In two successive post-workshop surveys, ratings by workshop invitees led to consensus on the recommendations.

Bilateral eyelid swelling as the presenting sign of subcutaneous sarcoidosis.

An 18-year-old Black female presented with a 2-year history of bilateral upper eyelid swelling and the recent onset of multiple subcutaneous nodules on the arms. She had previously undergone evaluation and treatment for presumed angioedema. Biopsies of the eyelid and an arm nodule demonstrated non-necrotizing granulomatous inflammation with special stains negative for acid-fast bacilli and fungi, and the patient was diagnosed with subcutaneous sarcoidosis.

Just Say Yes? A Cluster Analytic Approach to Evaluating College Students' Understandings of Affirmative Consent.

Affirmative consent policies on college campuses establish more stringent standards for inferring consent to sex. Although these policies often permit nonverbal communication of consent, they rarely outline finer-grained distinctions about which specific behaviors can stand-in for verbal affirmation. It thus remains possible that students hold different understandings of this policy vis-à-vis the nonverbals used to convey and infer consent, which could undermine the purported utility of affirmative consent initiatives.

Multi-institutional distributed data networks for real-world evidence about medical devices: building unique device identifiers into longitudinal data (BUILD).

Objectives: To support development of a robust postmarket device evaluation system using real-world data (RWD) from electronic health records (EHRs) and other sources, employing unique device identifiers (UDIs) to link to device information.

Methods: To create consistent device-related EHR RWD across 3 institutions, we established a distributed data network and created UDI-enriched research databases (UDIRs) employing a common data model comprised of 24 tables and 472 fields. To test the system, patients receiving coronary stents between 2010 and 2019 were loaded into each institution's UDIR to support distributed queries without sharing identifiable patient information.

Objective: To explore how communication is perceived and care is negotiated amongst IA healthcare teams by drawing on the perspectives of each team member.
