Deletion of TRAF2 or TRAF3 in B cells prolongs their survival. However, it remains unknown whether deletion of such factors affects B cells' ability to tolerate DNA damage, which can be induced by chemotherapeutics and cause apoptosis. Genetic alterations of TRAF2 or TRAF3 are observed in subsets of human B-cell lymphomas and B cell-specific deletion of TRAF3 led to lymphoma development in aged mice.

The benefits of Tele-ICU are numerous, but the barriers to it often prove insurmountable, accounting for slow adoption in rural and underserved areas where it is needed the most. Remote monitoring can quickly detect patient deterioration, while consultation provided by a remote intensivist expands the capabilities of smaller facilities.

Measuring RDCs requires aligning macromolecules using one of various types of alignment media. Of different alignment media options, stretched or compressed polyacrylamide gels are advantageous due to their chemical stability.

Glycerol kinase deficiency has been associated with neuromuscular, skeletal and adrenal abnormalities and has also been seen in individuals without these clinical findings. Examination of residual enzyme activity in patients' liver, kidney, leukocytes and fibroblasts showed a generalized, heritable defect: the apparent Km for glycerol was increased 5-200-fold over control values, whereas the apparent Km for ATP was not significantly altered. This kinetic defect was similar in fibroblasts from clinically different individuals with this inborn error of metabolism.
