Fournier's gangrene (FG) is a type of necrotizing fasciitis affecting the abdomen or perineum. It is a polymicrobial infection that progresses to an obliterating endarteritis, causing thrombosis and subsequent tissue necrosis, allowing pathogenic invasion of interfacial planes.Patients with Fournier's gangrene typically have underlying systemic conditions that cause vascular insufficiencies or immunosuppression.

The typical incision is a reverse question mark (RQM); however, a retroauricular (RA) incision has been proposed as an alternative. The widespread adoption ofthe RA incision has been slowed by lack of familiarity and concerns over decompression efficacy.

Purpose: The purpose of this research was to report isometric hip adduction and abduction strength reference values of men's and women's Gaelic football and rugby union players and compare values between sexes and between sports.
Methods: This cross-sectional cohort study consisted of 331 club-level athletes. Maximum isometric hip adduction squeeze and abduction press strength values were measured with a ForceFrame across several testing positions.
Objective: This scoping review aimed to map existing research on adverse events encountered during telerehabilitation delivery, across rehabilitation populations. This includes identifying characteristics of adverse events (frequency/physical/non-physical, relatedness, severity) and examining adverse events by different modes of telerehabilitation delivery and disease states.
Introduction: Telerehabilitation, a subset of telemedicine, has gained traction during the COVID-19 pandemic for remote service delivery.
Background: The healthcare sector is a significant contributor to worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. The specific environmental impacts of neurosurgical operations remain largely unexplored.
Objective: To identify and review existing literature on sustainability and environmental impacts in the neurosurgical operating room, with an aim to assess scope and scale, and secondarily to evaluate potential interventions pertinent to neurosurgery.
To examine change in driving and community mobility outcomes for teens and young adults with autism as a result of participating in an occupational therapy intervention designed as a Bootcamp as perceived by the participants and their parents. Matched questionnaires were completed by novice drivers with autism as well as their parents prior to and immediately after the intervention. The intervention consisted of a 5-day (32 h) intervention using interactive driving simulators, role playing, and highly interactive learning experiences.

However, culturally appropriate methods for identifying potential cognitive impairment are lacking. This paper reports on the development of a screen and interview protocol designed to flag possible cognitive impairments and psychosocial disability in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander adults over the age of 16years.

Objective: This paper compares a variety of recruitment strategies used for a cross-sectional, observational study of high-risk women.
Methods: Eligible participants were assigned female at birth, aged 25-85 years, English-speaking, living in the United States, and at high risk for breast cancer as defined by the American College of Radiology.
Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is an autosomal recessive condition characterized by alpha motor neuron degeneration in the spinal cord anterior horn. Clinical symptoms manifest in the first weeks to months of life in the most severe cases, resulting in progressive symmetrical weakness and atrophy of the proximal voluntary muscles. Approximately 95% of SMA patients present with homozygous deletion of the gene.

This state-by-state approach has produced a patch work of regulations that multi-state operators (MSOs) must learn to navigate.

The system included a newly built digester, innovatively divided into three pie-shaped compartments (500 m each), followed by an existing, larger digester (1500 m). The system treated a mixture of waste activated sludge and primary sludge, achieving a stable total chemical oxygen demand reduction efficiency (56.

Such treatments often involve trade-offs between overall survival and side effects. Our study aims to estimate the trade-offs that could be used to inform decision-making at the individual and policy level.

Objective: This scoping review aims to map the existing research on adverse events during the delivery of telerehabilitation.
Introduction: Telerehabilitation, a subset of telemedicine, has gained traction during the COVID-19 pandemic as a means to deliver rehabilitation services remotely. However, there exists a research gap as there has yet to be any scoping review, systematic review, or meta-analysis published to identify and summarize the current primary research on adverse events related to telerehabilitation as a whole.
To define the prevalence of dysphagia after endotracheal intubation in critically ill adult patients. A retrospective observational data linkage cohort study using the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society Adult Patient Database and a mandatory government statewide health care administration database. Frail patients, especially older adults, are at higher risk for adverse outcomes. Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a neurosurgical emergency associated with high morbidity and mortality rates that have previously been shown to correlate with frailty.

Key Points: Compared with infants with typical development, this child had differing values for leg movement quantity, duration, average acceleration, and peak acceleration measured across full days in the natural environment by wearable sensors. In addition, movement quantity and clinician-rated outcomes increased with age.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is an X-linked disease caused by loss-of-function mutations in the gene and is characterized by muscle wasting and early mortality. Adeno-associated virus-mediated gene therapy is being investigated as a treatment for DMD. In the nonclinical study documented here, we determined the effective dose of fordadistrogene movaparvovec, a clinical candidate adeno-associated virus serotype 9 vector carrying a human mini-dystrophin transgene, after single intravenous injection in a dystrophin-deficient (DMD) rat model of DMD.

Spanish-language educational outreach events were comprised of an educational session lasting approximately 45-60 min and were delivered to groups in rural and urban community settings by a single trained community health educator (CHE). The research team assessed sociodemographic characteristics, personal and familial cancer health history, as well as awareness and knowledge (pre-test) of a range of cancer prevention and screening topics.

However, there is an increased sensitivity to uncertainties in patient motion/setup, proton range and radiobiological effect. Although recent efforts have mitigated some uncertainties, radiobiological effect remains unresolved due to a lack of clinical data for relevant endpoints.

Therefore, in this mixed methods study we explored perceived pandemic-related practice changes to cervical cancer screenings in federally qualified health centers (FQHCs).
Methods: Between October 2021 and June 2022, we conducted a national web survey of clinicians (physicians and advanced practice providers) who performed cervical cancer screening in FQHCs in the United States during the post-acute phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, along with a sub-set of qualitative interviews via video conference, to examine perceived changes in cervical cancer screening practices during the pandemic.
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic led to reductions in cervical cancer screening and colposcopy. Therefore, in this mixed method study we explored perceived pandemic-related practice changes to cervical cancer screenings and colposcopies.
Methods: In 2021, a national sample of 1251 clinicians completed surveys, including 675 clinicians who performed colposcopy; a subset (n=55) of clinicians completed qualitative interviews.
Background: Annual screening breast MRI is recommended for women at high (≥ 20% lifetime) breast cancer risk, but is underutilized. Guided by the Health Services Utilization Model (HSUM), we assessed factors associated with screening breast MRI among high-risk women.
Methods: From August 2020-January 2021, we recruited an online convenience sample of high-risk women ages 25-85 (N = 232).
Background: Variability in antimicrobial prescribing may indicate an opportunity for improvement in antimicrobial use. We sought to measure physician-level antimicrobial prescribing in adult general medical wards, assess the contribution of patient-level factors to antimicrobial prescribing and evaluate the association between antimicrobial prescribing and clinical outcomes.
Methods: Using the General Medicine Inpatient Initiative (GEMINI) database, we conducted a retrospective cohort study of physician-level volume and spectrum of antimicrobial prescribing in adult general medical wards in 4 academic teaching hospitals in Toronto, Ontario, between April 2010 and December 2019.
