Integrating spatial inequality perspectives in strategic decision-making can ensure positive impacts on resource distribution for public welfare and sustainable development. This study aims to apply evidence-based approaches in deploying permanent deacons. The empirical case study has been conducted at the St Helens denary of the Liverpool archdiocese, UK.

Many healthcare services that were once only available in acute settings are now common in the community. Intravenous (IV) therapy is increasingly available as a community service. Given the option, most patients would choose to receive their treatment in a community setting, rather than in hospital.

The new aqueous zinc-polyiodide redox flow battery (RFB) system with highly soluble active materials as well as ambipolar and bifunctional designs demonstrated significantly enhanced energy density, which shows great potential to reduce RFB cost. However, the poor kinetic reversibility and electrochemical activity of the redox reaction of I3(-)/I(-) couples on graphite felts (GFs) electrode can result in low energy efficiency. Two nanoporous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), MIL-125-NH2 and UiO-66-CH3, that have high surface areas when introduced to GF surfaces accelerated the I3(-)/I(-) redox reaction.

Low-cost renewable lignin has been used as a precursor to produce porous carbons. However, to date, it has not been easy to obtain high surface area porous carbon without activation processes or templating agents. Here, we demonstrate that low molecular weight lignin yields highly porous carbon with more graphitization through direct carbonization without additional activation processes or templating agents.

A breathing 2-fold interpenetrated microporous metal-organic framework was synthesized with a flexible tetrahedral organic linker and Zn(2) clusters that sorb CO(2) preferably over N(2) and H(2).

Molecular dynamics simulations are used to investigate the molecular interactions of hydrogen-loaded beta-hydroquinone clathrate. It is found that, at lower temperatures, higher loadings are more stable, whereas at higher temperatures, lower loadings are more stable. Attractive forces between the guest and host molecules lead to a stabilized minimum-energy configuration at low temperatures.

Ferrocene has been encapsulated within a symmetric ether-amide dendritic shell and its redox potential monitored in a variety of solvents. The dendritic effect generated by the branched shell is different in different solvents. In less polar, non hydrogen bond donor solvents, attachment of the branched shell to ferrocene increases its E(1/2), indicating that oxidation to ferrocenium (charge buildup) becomes thermodynamically hindered by the dendrimer, a result explained by the dendrimer providing a less polar medium than that of the surrounding electrolyte solution.

Individual dendritic branches can solubilise hydrophilic dyes in apolar media. The functional group at the focal point of the dendritic branch plays a key role in the dye uptake process. Supramolecular interactions between carboxylic acid and amine groups have been shown to be effective in enabling efficient solubilisation to occur.
