Three case reports describing catheter-induced pulmonary artery hemorrhage in patients having cardiac operations are presented--a 0.2% incidence of this complication. One patient exsanguinated and died, another survived after undergoing an emergency lobectomy, and the third escaped without surgical intervention.

Autologous 131I-labeled fibrinogen was administered to 17 patients during 19 episodes of suspected lower extremity deep vein thrombosis in an attempt to assess its diagnostic accuracy. Serial rectilinear scanning and probe counting of the lower extremities and pelvis were performed and compared with ascending contrast venography. The sensitivities of imaging and counting were 67% and 47%, respectively, and both had a specificity of 95%.

A record audit of the office immunization records of 13 private-practice Idaho physicians included 813 2-year-old children. Thirty-six percent had completed all the Public Health Service recommended immunizations for a 2-year-old child. Forty-four percent of the "active" patients (those seen by the physician within the previous 12 months) were complete as opposed to 8% of the "inactive" patients.
