Background: Hair thread tourniquet syndrome occurs when tissue is strangulated by a hair thread. It occurs most commonly in the digits of infants and young children, but can also occur in the genitalia.

Case Report: A 13-year-old postmenarchal girl with several days of severe vulvar pain and swelling presented to the emergency department.

Method: Youth (N = 2,156) and their caregivers participating in the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Social Development (ABCD-SD) study reported on the occurrence and timing of disciplinary events and youths' demographics, delinquency, and neighborhood conditions.

Prevention Science seeks to advance the prevention research and to translate scientific advances into the promotion of healthy development for all youth. Our collective errors of omission as prevention researchers have left prevention practitioners and policy-makers without sufficient information to identify strategies that have been demonstrated to prevent behavioral health problems in young people who identify as Black, Indigenous, or other People of Color (BIPOC).

We demonstrate a new method for the generation of beams with rapidly tunable orbital angular momentum (OAM). This method is based on using a single-axis scanning galvanometer mirror to add a phase tilt on an elliptical Gaussian beam that is then wrapped to a ring using optics that perform a log-polar transformation. This system can switch between modes in the kHz range and use relatively high power with high efficiency.

Objective: To determine the level of agreement between the advice given to an obstetric patient calling an obstetric call center and the advice given by health care providers with varying degrees of knowledge and experience.

Study Design: This is a retrospective quality improvement project which evaluates the level of agreement between advice from nurses at an obstetric call center using software with obstetric triage protocols compared with advice given by women's health advanced practice nurse (APN), a fourth year obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) resident, and a maternal fetal medicine (MFM) specialist on the same call scenarios.

Objective: To explore perceptions and attitudes of postpartum women with pre-eclampsia towards remote monitoring (mHealth) and communication with the call center.

Methods: A non-randomized cohort study was conducted in postpartum hypertensive women, recruited from a tertiary hospital between October 2015 and February 2016. Participants were categorized into users (using mHealth) and non-users (not using mHealth) to monitor vital signs at home over a 2-week period after discharge.

In the current study, correlates of somatic symptoms among African American males ( n = 74) transitioning from a public system of care, namely, foster care, was explored. Potential correlates assessed included indicators of child maltreatment, approach and avoidance coping strategies, as well as the following emotional and behavioral problems: oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, major depressive disorder, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.
