Background: Older adults may be less comfortable with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology or require additional education to support use. The Virtual Diabetes Specialty Clinic study provided the opportunity to understand glycemic outcomes and support needed for older versus younger adults living with diabetes and using CGM.

Existing research on the effects of nature exposure on the mental health of adults indicates that spending time in nature reduces depressive symptoms and stress, increases quality of life and mood and improves mental health. This meta-analysis aimed to answer the question: what are the effects of nature exposure on the social, mental and physical health of adults with symptoms of mental illness? The meta-analysis included all studies relevant to the study research questions which collected quantitative data on nature exposure using validated instruments for at least two time points on each participant and which were published between 1990 and 2020. Regarding the impact of nature exposure on adults with symptoms of mental illness, analyses showed significant, moderate effect sizes for all studies and smaller, but significant, effect sizes for studies with control groups Analyses also yielded critical information regarding the effect size of the type of nature dosage, nature setting, nature-based activity, key mental health outcomes and other factors.

Post-traumatic rotational instability at the atlanto-axial (C1-2) joint is difficult to assess, much less quantify, due to the orientation and motion plane of the joint. Prior investigations have demonstrated that a dynamic axial CT scan, during which the patient maximally rotates the head right and left, can be used to evaluate and quantify the amount of residual overlap between the inferior articulating facet of C1 and the superior facet of C2, as an index of ligamentous laxity at the joint. We have previously demonstrated that a novel orthopedic test of rotational instability, the atlas-axis rotational test (A-ART), may have utility in identifying patients with imaging evidence of upper cervical ligament injury.

A sampling system for measuring emissions of nonvolatile particulate matter (nvPM) from aircraft gas turbine engines has been developed to replace the use of smoke number and is used for international regulatory purposes. This sampling system can be up to 35 m in length. Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the utility of two-dimensional high-resolution (2D), 3-dimensional with multiplanar reconstruction (3D MPR), and radially reformatted (RR) MRIs when evaluating the complexities of the hip joint in patients with femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). We hypothesized RR would be superior in detecting labral pathology and 2D would be superior in detecting transition zone and acetabular cartilage injury.

We developed a faculty professional development seminar series in order to facilitate the integration of our numerous new faculty into academics. The changing nature of the healthcare system, increasing clinical and administrative responsibility, and lack of access to senior mentors can hinder junior faculty productivity and possibly increase attrition. Given that no ready-made resources existed to address these issues we established a Professional Development Committee, developed a curriculum that covers relevant topics including promotion, mentorship, conflict management and feedback, and effective presentation of scientific data, and instituted changes iteratively based upon feedback.

The practice of radiology is continually evolving with external pressures increasing the involvement of the radiologist as an integrated member of the multidisciplinary care delivery team and not just image interpreters working in isolation. Radiologists need to be comfortable interacting directly with patients and practicing "patient and family-centered care" and "value-based medicine." Despite this evolving role of the radiologist, medical training and the residency selection process have not significantly adapted to accommodate these new demands.
