Olive mill wastewater (OMWW), a byproduct of olive oil extraction, constitutes a natural resource of phenolic compounds. Hydroxytyrosol (HT), the predominant compound, was reported to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects. This research aims to evaluate the effect of OMWW bioproduct rich in HT on retinal glial function, glutamate metabolism, and synaptic transmission alterations mediated by hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia in high-calorie diet (HCD)-induced diabetic retinopathy (DR) in Psammomys obesus.

Four diets were used: a low-calorie natural diet, halophyte plant used as control (LCD), a high standard carbohydrate diet rich in protein, HCD 0, a high carbohydrate diet rich in two concentrations of fat, HCD 1 and HCD 2. All animals having received HCDs developed dyslipidemia after one month of experiment with distinction of different sub-groups developing or not obesity and diabetes.

The members of the FM committee of the Faculty of Medicine of Monastir (FMM) aimed to detail the learning objectives (LO) of residents in FM.
Method: We used the Delphi method in 2 rounds including a group of experts called FM Learning Objectives Writing Group (FMLOWG) at the FMM.
Animals are used for scientific purposes across Africa to benefit humans, animals or the environment. Nonetheless, ethical and regulatory oversight remains limited in many parts of the continent. To strengthen this governance framework, the Pan-African Network for Laboratory Animal Science and Ethics brought together experts from 12 African countries to create an Africa-centric practical guide to facilitate the establishment and appropriate functioning of Institutional Animal Ethics Committees across Africa.

Patients And Methods: This is a cross-sectional and comparative study carried out over two years, from April 1, 2019, to March 31, 2021. We included patients aged over 5years, followed for unilateral amblyopia, free of any neurological and/or ocular pathology.
To report a case of central retinal artery occlusion associated with sildenafil intake and briefly discuss its causative pathogenesis. A 50-year-old man with no premorbidities presented with symptoms of sudden severe visual field constriction in the left eye (LE). Best-corrected visual acuity in the LE was 20/25.

Objective: To report acute multifocal retinitis in association with serologically-proven Coxiella (C) Burnetii infection (Q fever) with endocarditis.
Material And Methods: A single case report documented with multimodal imaging.
Results: A 67-year-old cattle breeder presented with a 2-week history of persistent fever, headache, and floaters in both eyes.
Background: Septoria tritici blotch (STB), caused by Zymoseptoria tritici (Z. tritici), is an important biotic threat to durum wheat in the entire Mediterranean Basin. Although most durum wheat cultivars are susceptible to Z.

Tunisia is known as a hot spot for Septoria tritici blotch disease (STB), caused by the fungus (). In this context, a collection of 3166 Mediterranean durum wheat landraces were evaluated at the seedling and adult stages for STB resistance in the 2016-2017 cropping season under field conditions in Kodia (Tunisia).

In this context, we evaluated a Mediterranean collection of 549 durum wheat accessions under field conditions for resistance to over two cropping seasons in Jendouba (Tunisia), a hot spot for . The relative disease severities showed significant phenotypic variation from resistance to susceptibility.

The magnetometer consists of a silicon micro-beam sandwiched between two electrodes to electrostatically induce in-plane vibration and to detect the output current. The method is based on measuring the resonance frequency of the micro-beam around the buckling zone to sense out-of-plane magnetic fields.
