Heartbeat classification based on single lead-II ECG using deep learning.

The analysis and processing of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals is a vital step in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. ECG offers a non-invasive and risk-free method for monitoring the electrical activity of the heart that can assist in predicting and diagnosing heart diseases. The manual interpretation of the ECG signals, however, can be challenging and time-consuming even for experts.

Image quality enhancement in Neutron Computerized Tomography based on projection exposure time adjustment.

This paper presents a proposed procedure for neutron radiography image enhancement through studying the effect of the projection exposure time on the quality of Neutron Computerized Tomography (NCT) image. A sample was exposure at the Egyptian Second Research Reactor (ETRR-2) NCT facility with projection exposure time varying from one second to six seconds at reactor power operation of 17 MW. The NCT image was corrected against the read-out noise using flat and dark current images.

E-cigarette use is associated with other tobacco use among US adolescents.

Objectives: To examine whether tobacco initiation via e-cigarettes increases the likelihood of subsequent tobacco use among a large representative sample of US adolescents.

Methods: This study is a retrospective longitudinal analysis from a representative sample of US middle and high school students (n = 39,718) who completed the 2014 and 2015 National Youth Tobacco Survey. The adjusted odds ratios of lifetime and current use of tobacco use were estimated by logistic regression analysis while controlling for important socio-ecological factors associated with tobacco use.
