Aim: We aimed to compare the radiographic outcomes of conventional and regenerative approaches in endodontic microsurgery (EMS) and set a critical defect size for healing in conventional and regenerative therapies.
Methodology: The study evaluated 53 root canal-treated teeth (33 patients) with periapical lesions. Among them, 19 teeth (35.
Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have become the standard method of evaluating new interventions (whether medical or surgical), and the best evidence used to inform the development of new practice guidelines. When we review the history of medical versus surgical trials, surgical RCTs usually face more challenges and difficulties when conducted. These challenges can be in blinding, recruiting, funding, and even in certain ethical issues.

Case Description: A patient presented with spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage and was found to have a 4 × 3 × 3 mm posterior communicating artery aneurysm. Of note the aneurysm projected superiorly and a fetal posterior communicating artery aneurysm arose from the neck of the aneurysm.

Background: Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) is a common type of intracranial hemorrhage, especially among the elderly, with a recurrence rate as high as 33%. Little is known about the best type of drainage system and its relationship with recurrence. In this study, we compare the use of two drainage systems on the recurrence rate of CSDH.

The presence of AL is important when placing the implant interforaminal area of the mandible. These anatomical discrepancies can be assessed by cone-beam CT (CBCT), for evaluating its position and exact location.

The recent advent of frameless stereotaxy has invited the question of whether it can provide the same diagnostic yield as frame-based techniques, without increasing risk of harm to patients. The goal of this meta-analysis was to compare each of these techniques in terms of yield and safety.

Materials And Methods: A survey of nine commercial dental laboratories located in Riyadh was carried out. In each visit, master casts for cobalt chromium RPDs and dentists' prescriptions were examined.
Objectives: The primary aim of the current study is to relate oral health knowledge, attitude, and oral hygiene practice with the periodontal condition of both undergraduate and postgraduate dental students.
Materials And Methods: Data were collected through a combination of self-reported questionnaire and clinical examination. The estimated sample size was 246.
Objective: Microvascular decompression (MVD) is commonly used in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia (TN) with positive clinical outcomes. Fully endoscopic MVD (E-MVD) has been proposed as an effective minimally invasive alternative, but a comparative review of the two approaches has not been conducted. The authors performed a meta-analysis of studies, comparing patient outcome rates and complications for the open versus the endoscopic technique.

The goal of the present study was to evaluate the association between variable degrees of EOR and clinical outcomes for patients with low-grade glioma.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis and searched databases for reports of low-grade glioma EOR.
Background And Aims: Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) might be associated with a new onset or worsening of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). We aim to evaluate the prevalence of post-LSG GERD symptoms and its predictors.
Methods: We included patients who underwent primary LSG at a university hospital from 2009 to 2015.
Objective: The aim of the current study was to investigate whether Smad2 overexpression in JE cells induced alveolar bone loss, and to understand the mechanisms regulating the bone loss.
Methods: A mouse line was created that used a cytokeratin 14 (K14) promoter to overexpress Smad2 in the epithelium of the transgenic mice (K14-Smad2). Micro CT radiographs (μCT) were used to assess bone loss, bone volume, and bone density.
Introduction: Olmsted syndrome is a rare palmoplantar keratodermal disease that has not previously been reported to have an association with periodontal disease. The aim of this study is to report and document a case of Olmsted syndrome with evidence of severe periodontal disease.
Case Report: A 38-year old Saudi male patient presented to the dental clinic diagnosed previously with Olmsted syndrome.
Objective: Gingival junctional epithelium (JE) actively contributes to the homeostasis of the periodontium. Altered activation of TGF-β signalling is implicated in the epithelium from chronic periodontitis. However, little is known about the effects of TGF-β signalling on the JE.
