Screening for total pain and sharing of patient information including adverse events for patients receiving chemotherapy by medical staff is needed in clinical practice. We introduced a sharing system for patient-oriented outcome sheets via a touch panel at an outpatient chemotherapy clinic. This study aimed to assess whether the system contributes to the improved management of treatment-related adverse events.

This study aimed to identify differences between gemcitabine formulations as well as risk factors associated with gemcitabine-induced venous pain in patients with cancer.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from consecutive patients with cancer who had received chemotherapy including a lyophilized or liquid formulation of gemcitabine diluted with 5% glucose solution via a peripheral vein.
The National Metrology Institute of Japan has issued a certified reference material of bioethanol (NMIJ CRM 8301-a) for the quantification of water, methanol, sulfur, and copper. This paper presents technical details for the characterization of the water in NMIJ CRM 8301-a. The characterization was performed using coulometric and volumetric Karl-Fischer (KF) titrations.

Brown rice sample was harvested to contain the pesticides such as etofenprox and fenitrothion, and that was collected from a field in Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan. The certification was carried out using multiple analytical methods such as pressurized liquid extraction, homogenization, and solid-liquid extraction (shaking); the values of target pesticides were obtained by isotope dilution mass spectrometry.

Organic sulfide was attached to a diamino (primary and secondary amino) bonded silica surface by an amide bond, and the bonded sulfide groups were oxidized with periodate to afford sulfoxide groups bonded to the stationary phase. The secondary amino groups in the spacer chain were converted to ammonium-salt by the addition of hydrochloric acid.

The yields increased as the extraction temperature increased from 100 to 190 degrees C, but the effect of increasing pressure (from 15 to 20 MPa) was small. Parameters of 190 degrees C and 20 MPa, near the maximum of the equipment, gave the highest yield.

The concentrations of four selected pesticides obtained by PLE with acetonitrile at 130 degrees C for 10 min x 2 cycles were comparable to those by homogenization with water-soaking. The repeatability of the analysis, represented as relative standard deviations (RSDs), were 1.

To further investigate the effects of the A-ring modification of 1a, b on the biological activity profile, novel 22-thia-19-norvitamin D analogs 2-11 bearing a hydroxyethoxy-, hydroxyethylidene- or methyl group at C-2 in combination with 20S- and 20R-isomers were prepared and tested for their in vitro biological activities. All of the synthesized analogs showed 0.

The raw materials for the CRMs were an insulation oil (CRM 7902-a and CRM 7903-a) and a fuel oil (CRM7904-a and CRM 7905-a). A solution of PCB3, PCB8, and technical PCB products, comprising four types of Kaneclor, was added to the oil matrices.
