Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have received considerable attention as next-generation drugs for infectious diseases. Amphipathicity and the formation of a stabilized secondary structure are required to exert their antimicrobial activity by insertion into the microbial membrane, resulting in lysis of the bacteria.
