Medical students and ChatGPT: analyzing attitudes, practices, and academic perceptions.

Background: ChatGPT, a chatbot launched by OpenAI in November 2022, has generated both excitement and concern within the healthcare education, research, and practice communities. This study aimed to explore the knowledge, perceptions, attitudes, and practices of undergraduate medical students regarding the use of ChatGPT and similar chatbots in their academic work.

Methods: An anonymous, structured questionnaire was developed using Google Forms and administered to medical students as part of a cross-sectional study.

Early risk classification of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients admitted to hospital is a critical key for providing optimal interventions. We investigated whether neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) levels and other inflammatory and coagulation markers could be predictors for the severity and mortality of hospitalized COVID-19 patients. This cross-sectional study included 155 COVID-19 patients diagnosed by the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) using oropharyngeal swabs.

Targeting Future Customers: An Introductory Biobanking Course for Undergraduate Students of Life Sciences.

Introduction: Biobanking is a relatively new concept in the Arab region. Targeting different stakeholders to introduce the concept of biobanking and develop an acceptance of it among them is important for the growth of biobanking in the region. Undergraduate students of life sciences represent an important segment of stakeholders, since they constitute potential future biobank customers.
