The relationship between these two outcomes is complex, with studies showing a weak correlation between them in the non-obstetric population. We sought to evaluate the correlation between patient satisfaction and QoR scores in the obstetric population after caesarean delivery.

Biological motion, the typical movement of vertebrates, is perceptually salient for many animal species. Newly hatched domestic chicks and human newborns show a spontaneous preference for simple biological motion stimuli (point-light displays) at birth prior to any visual learning. Despite evidence of such preference at birth, neural studies performed so far have focused on a specialized neural network involving primarily cortical areas.

Split paw pad disease is a scarcely defined phenotype characterized by skin lesions on the paw pads of dogs. We studied a family of German Shepherd dogs, in which four dogs developed intermittent paw pad lesions and lameness. The paw pads of two of the affected dogs were biopsied and demonstrated cleft formation in the stratum spinosum and stratum corneum, the outermost layers of the epidermis.

Summary Answer: The number of previous NVPLs is a significant predictor of subsequent live birth in patients with RPL.

What Is Known Already: The number of preceding miscarriages is a strong indicator for future reproductive outcomes. However, NVPL particularly has been sparsely addressed in previous literature.

Vitamin D intakes among women living with and without HIV in Canada.

Background: Patterns of vitamin D intake are relatively unexplored among women living with HIV, despite its importance for women's health. We compared vitamin D dietary and supplement intakes in women with HIV and population-based national controls and investigated barriers to intake.

Methods: In this case-control study, women with HIV in the Children and Women: AntiRetrovirals and Markers of Aging (CARMA) cohort were matched with Canadian Multicentre Osteoporosis Study (CaMos) controls.

Spatial cognition and the avian hippocampus: Research in domestic chicks.

In this review, we discuss the functional equivalence of the avian and mammalian hippocampus, based mostly on our own research in domestic chicks, which provide an important developmental model (most research on spatial cognition in other birds relies on adult animals). In birds, like in mammals, the hippocampus plays a central role in processing spatial information. However, the structure of this homolog area shows remarkable differences between birds and mammals.

Animal Histoplasmosis in Europe: Review of the Literature and Molecular Typing of the Etiological Agents.

Histoplasmosis has been previously diagnosed in animals from Europe. The aim of this study is to review the literature on these reports, to analyze cases diagnosed at our laboratory (2000-2022) and to improve molecular typing of directly from tissue to study the molecular epidemiology of causing animal infections in Europe. Including 15 cases studied in our laboratory, we identified 39 cases of animal histoplasmosis between 1968 and 2022.

Enhancing knowledge, skills, and comfort in providing anesthesia assistance during obstetric general anesthesia for operating room nurses: a prospective observational study.

Background: Due to a nationwide shortage of anesthesia assistants, operating room nurses are often recruited to assist with the induction of obstetric general anesthesia (GA). We developed and administered a training program and hypothesized there would be significant improvements in knowledge and skills in anesthesia assistance during obstetric GA by operating room nurses following training with adequate retention at six months.

Methods: Following informed consent, all operating room nurses at our institution were invited to participate in the study.
