Introduction: Asian Indians (AIs), the second largest immigrant population in the United States, are disproportionately affected by type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) at a lower age and body mass index (BMI). The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between social determinants of health (SDOH) and the diagnosis of T2DM among AIs in New Jersey (NJ).

Methodology: This was a secondary data analysis of the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) in NJ from 2013 to 2017.

Interpolymer complex formation through hydrogen bonding has been investigated between two polymers: poly(acrylamide) (PAAm) and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA). The differential properties of the interpolymer complex with varying molecular weights of PVA have been studied by taking three different molecular weights of PVA. Furthermore, the host-guest interaction between the interpolymer complexes prepared and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) has also been studied in detail.

In this article, we report tuning of the sensory capability of an amino acid (tryptophan) in a biomimicking anionic micellar nano cage. It has been shown that anionic surfactant concentration dictates the sensing behavior of tryptophan toward body malodor component (butyric acid) generated by bacterial degradation of tributyrin. We have proposed a fluorescence quenching mechanism that is based on short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) proximity with tryptophan present at the micelle-water interface.
