Background: Individuals who experience migraines often seek out a variety of treatment options including manual or physical therapy. Evidence suggests that manual therapy, including osteopathy, can play a role in the management of migraines. Whilst there is some literature on the role osteopathy therapy plays in migraine management, none describes the treatment approaches used by practitioners.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is an increasingly prevalent neurodevelopmental condition characterized by social and communication deficits as well as patterns of restricted, repetitive behavior. Abnormal brain development has long been postulated to underlie ASD, but longitudinal studies aimed at understanding the developmental course of the disorder have been limited. More recently, abnormal development of the striatum in ASD has become an area of interest in research, partially due to overlap of striatal functions and deficit areas in ASD, as well as the critical role of the striatum in early development, when ASD is first detected.

Congenital and Acquired Spinal Cord Injury and Dysfunction.

Pediatric spinal cord injury and dysfunction (SCI/D) can result from atypical embryologic development or be acquired as the result of trauma, infection, autoimmune conditions, and tumors. The age of onset and causal mechanism of SCI/D has dramatic implications for function and risk of comorbidities throughout the lifespan. Optimal care of children with SCI/D is multidisciplinary and the pediatrician is a very important member of this team.
