First Detection of Rupestris stem pitting associated virus Particles by Antibody to a Recombinant Coat Protein.

Rupestris stem pitting associated virus (RSPaV), a member of the genus Foveavirus, is associated with the Rupestris stem pitting component of the Rugose wood (RW) disease complex of grapevines. Heretofore, particles of RSPaV have not been visualized. In this work, flexuous rod particles approximately 723 nm in length were detected in the sap of infected grapevines by immunosorbent electron microscopy (ISEM), using a polyclonal antiserum produced to a recombinant coat protein of RSPaV.

First Report of Tomato spotted wilt virus and Impatiens necrotic spot virus in Slovenia.

In July 2000, concentric necrotic rings and patterns were observed on greenhouse-grown pepper (Capsicum anuum L. 'Blondi'). Symptoms were present only on lower leaves, not on young leaves or fruits.

Potato cysteine proteinase inhibitor gene family: molecular cloning, characterisation and immunocytochemical localisation studies.

Potato cysteine proteinase inhibitors (PCPIs) represent a distinct group of proteins as they show no homology to any other known cysteine proteinase inhibitor superfamilies, but they all belong to the Kunitz-type soybean trypsin inhibitor family. cDNA clones for five PCPIs have been isolated and sequenced. Amino acid substitutions occurring in the limited regions forming loops on the surface of these proteins suggest a further classification of PCPIs into three subgroups.

[Retroperitoneal marsupialization of renal cysts].

The use of minimal invasive surgery in urology continue to increase. Retroperitoneoscopic approach in performing minimal invasive surgery of retroperitoneum shortens the duration of operation in comparison with transabdominal approach, with minimal risk of intraabdominal complications. We described the use of the retroperitoneoscopic approach to the upper pole of a kidney for marsupialization of a symptomatic renal cyst.

[War injuries in Sisak in 1991].

A review of 465 persons wounded during the war in Sisak, Croatia, is presented. The nature of injuries are listed as follows: 337 persons were wounded by fire arms, 120 by beating or falling, 4 by knife, 3 by low temperature and 1 person was injured by high temperature. Of 465 injured patients 7 were dead at the time of admission to the hospital and the other 6 died within one hour of arrival.
