Introduction: The clinical learning environment is the context of overlap between the educational system and the working environment. Here students apply the knowledge learned during theoretical teachings, acquire practical, relational and caring skills. It is fundamental for nursing training and there are several rating scales aimed at evaluating it: the presence and quality of the studies that investigate their performances are heterogeneous, so it is difficult to identify the best tool.

The smart body concept as a demonstration of the overarching utility and benefits of 3D avatars in retail, health and wellbeing: an accuracy study of body measures from 3D reconstruction.

Recent developments in 3D graphic technologies enable the affordable and precise reconstruction of body scanned models that can be applied in a variety of verticals, such as fashion, fitness and wellness, and healthcare. The accuracy of body measurements is a crucial element for the successful application of avatars in the following use cases: Avatars that go beyond visual representation and offer intrinsic and precise anthropometric data defined as a smart body are discussed in this paper. In particular, this paper presents the Gate technology, an innovative, autonomous, sustainable body scanner, coupled with an automatic production pipeline and the concept of avatars as smart bodies.

Single cell oils of the cold-adapted oleaginous yeast Rhodotorula glacialis DBVPG 4785.

Background: The production of microbial lipids has attracted considerable interest during the past decade since they can be successfully used to produce biodiesel by catalyzed transesterification with short chain alcohols. Certain yeast species, including several psychrophilic isolates, are oleaginous and accumulate lipids from 20 to 70% of biomass under appropriate cultivation conditions. Among them, Rhodotorula glacialis is a psychrophilic basidiomycetous species capable to accumulate intracellular lipids.

[Learning assessment in the nursing process].

One of the many different skills that nursing students have to achieve is how to dispense care by applying nursing concepts. The authors propose and instrument for evaluating and monitoring various aspects of learning in nursing students and their ability to put them into practice by considering 31 indicators, taking into account the degree of difficulty (D) and discrimination (d) involved in each one. All but 2 of the indicators were found to be reliable for assessing learning in nursing students .

Growth, lipid accumulation, and fatty acid composition in obligate psychrophilic, facultative psychrophilic, and mesophilic yeasts.

Obligate psychrophilic, facultative psychrophilic, and mesophilic yeasts were cultured in a carbon-rich medium at different temperatures to investigate whether growth parameters, lipid accumulation, and fatty acid (FA) composition were adaptive and/or acclimatory responses. Acclimation of facultative psychrophiles and mesophiles to a lower temperature decreased their specific growth rate, but did not affect their biomass yield (Y(X/S)). Obligate and facultative psychrophiles exhibited the highest Y(X/S).
