Objective: In patients suffering from severe hypoxia, the EEG may show a burst-suppression pattern, characterized by low-voltage activity and the occurrence of high amplitude burst-like events. We describe the two-timescale burst phenomenology of this postanoxic condition.
Methods: We present EEG recordings showing remarkable burst phenomenology in two postanoxic patients and consider potential mechanisms responsible for the generation of the burst-suppression patterns.

Objective: We study burst-like patterns of epileptiform discharges in non-convulsive status epilepticus (SE).
Methods: Epileptiform burst-like transients were identified by estimating the amplitude envelope of the EEG signal, and recurrence and similarities were identified by pairwise matching in the time-domain.
Results: We identified similarities in the onset of a significant fraction of the epileptiform bursts, and a bimodal distribution of the burst durations.

Binary black hole coalescence produces a finite burst of gravitational radiation, which propagates toward quiescent infinity. These spacetimes are analytic about infinity and contain a dimensionless coupling constant M/s, where M denotes the total mass-energy and s is an imaginary distance. This work introduces a globally convergent Fourier series in a complex radial coordinate, allowing spectral representations of black hole spacetimes in all three dimensions.

We have determined that a minor fraction of the energy is released in baryon-poor outflows from a differentially rotating open magnetic flux tube, and a major fraction of about eta/2 is released in gravitational radiation by the torus with angular velocity eta similar 0.2 to 0.
