We describe a multimodal dataset of paired head and eye movements acquired in controlled virtual reality environments. Our dataset includes head and eye movement for n = 25 participants who interacted with four different virtual reality environments that required coordinated head and eye behaviors. Our data collection involved two visual tracking tasks and two visual searching tasks.

Importance: Given the high number of opioid overdose deaths in the US and the complex epidemiology of opioid use disorder (OUD), systems models can serve as a tool to identify opportunities for public health interventions.

Membrane proteins on enveloped viruses play an important role in many biological functions involving virus attachment to target cell receptors, fusion of viral particles to host cells, host-virus interactions, and disease pathogenesis. Using data from CDC's State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System, this report describes trends in overdose deaths with evidence of counterfeit pill use during July 2019-December 2021 in 29 states and the District of Columbia (DC) and characteristics of deaths with and without evidence of counterfeit pill use during 2021 in 34 states and DC. The quarterly percentage of deaths with evidence of counterfeit pill use more than doubled from 2.0% during July-September 2019 to 4.

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI) are heterogeneous conditions. The spatiotemporal evolution of these heterogeneities is complex, and it is difficult to elucidate the mechanisms driving its progression. Through previous quantitative analyses, we explored the distributions of cellular injury and neutrophil infiltration in experimental VILI and discovered that VILI progression is characterized by both the formation of new injury in quasi-random locations and the expansion of existing injury clusters.

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a devastating pulmonary disease with significant in-hospital mortality and is the leading cause of death in COVID-19 patients. Excessive leukocyte recruitment, unregulated inflammation, and resultant fibrosis contribute to poor ARDS outcomes. Nanoparticle technology with cerium oxide nanoparticles (CNP) offers a mechanism by which unstable therapeutics such as the anti-inflammatory microRNA-146a can be locally delivered to the injured lung without systemic uptake.
