Aims: Psychological distress is prevalent among heart failure (HF) patients, yet its impact on healthcare expenditure and utilization remains understudied. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of psychological distress in HF patients and its impact on healthcare expenditure and utilization.
Methods And Results: We analysed data from the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey from January 2016 to December 2021, focusing on adults diagnosed with HF.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is described as transient, ventricular dysfunction. A relatively rare pathology accounting for 0.02% of hospitalizations, recurrent episodes are even less common, occurring at 1-6%.

Infections due to range in severity, and symptoms largely depend on underlying immune status and co-morbid conditions. Widely known, the transmission of is commonly thought to occur through biting and skin breakage alone.

Radiomics techniques applied to ultrasound, known as ultrasomics, can be used in cardio-oncology to leverage echocardiography for added prognostic value. To utilize ultrasomics features collected prior to antineoplastic therapy to enhance prediction of mortality and heart failure (HF) in patients with breast cancer.

Some studies have reported up to one-fifth of patients who underwent TAVI also have MS. The relationship between mitral stenosis and TAVI has led to concerns regarding increased adverse cardiac outcomes during and after the procedure.

In addition, we seek to compare plaque assessment on CCTA with intravascular ultrasound-virtual histology (IVUS-VH) and to assess the prognostic value of non-calcified plaques (NCPs).
Background: The CCTA can characterize coronary plaques and help quantify burden.

The experimental control of turbulent boundary layers using streamwise travelling waves of spanwise wall velocity, produced using a novel active surface, is outlined in this paper. The innovative surface comprises a pneumatically actuated compliant structure based on the kagome lattice geometry, supporting a pre-tensioned membrane skin. Careful design of the structure enables waves of variable length and speed to be produced in the flat surface in a robust and repeatable way, at frequencies and amplitudes known to have a favourable influence on the boundary layer.
