Nanoscale Patterning of Colloidal Nanocrystal Films for Nanophotonic Applications Using Direct Write Electron Beam Lithography.

The small size of colloidal nanocrystal quantum dots (QDs) leads to a variety of unique optical properties that are well-suited to nanophotonics, including bright, tunable photoluminescence (PL). However, exploring the properties of solid QD assemblies at the nanoscale has proven challenging because of the limitations in the nanoscale QD patterning methods. Generally, the precise placement of QD solids is difficult to achieve, especially for tall structures with multiple QD layers, and when it is achieved the patterns often cannot withstand the further processing steps required for final device construction.

Introduction of QUIP (quality information program) as a semi-automated quality assessment endeavor allowing retrospective review of errors in cross-sectional abdominal imaging.

Rationale And Objectives: The aims of this study were to review the role of a quality information program (QUIP) as a semiautomated educational feedback mechanism and to review common errors in cross-sectional abdominal and pelvic studies as an initiative for continuing medical education and improving patient care.

Materials And Methods: Abdominal and pelvic errors identified by QUIP and cases collected from morbidity and mortality conferences were reviewed. Errors were classified and graded to levels of morbidity.

Trichilemmal carcinoma in an African American.

Background: Trichilemmal carcinoma is an uncommon cutaneous neoplasm found primarily on the sun-exposed skin of the elderly.

Objective: To report a case of trichilemmal carcinoma presenting as a forehead nodule in an African American patient.

Methods: Case report and review of the literature.
