Case: This is a first report describing preservation of the femoral head by transcervical resection of proximal femoral Ewing sarcoma in 2 pediatric patients. A unique Capanna reconstruction supported joint salvage. At 1 year, Pediatric Outcomes Data Collection Instrument and Pediatric Toronto Extremity Salvage Score outcomes were excellent.

RKIP also regulates tumor cell resistance to cytotoxic drugs/cells. Likewise, the tumor suppressor, phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN), which inhibits the phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase (PI3K)/AKT pathway, is either mutated, underexpressed, or deleted in many cancers and shares with RKIP its anti-tumor properties and its regulation in resistance.

The capacitance was verified by a novel technique based on the interaction of a charged substrate with the electron beam of a scanning electron microscope. The "nanocapacitors" possessed a capacitance of approximately 1 x 10(-16) F and were observed to hold charge for over an hour.
