Introduction: To report the 5-year efficacy and safety of Aquablation compared with transurethral resection of the prostate for the management of lower urinary tract symptoms secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia in men with prostate volumes 50-80 mL.

Materials And Methods: In a large double-blinded, multicenter, and prospective randomized controlled trial, 96 randomized men with 50-80 mL prostates who underwent Aquablation or transurethral prostate resection were prospectively identified for subgroup analysis. Using machine learning on chromatin accessibility data from 34 nondiabetic, pre-T2D and T2D donors, we identify two transcriptionally and functionally distinct beta cell subtypes that undergo an abundance shift during T2D progression.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a heterogenous group of RNAs, which can encode small proteins. The extent to which developmentally regulated lncRNAs are translated and whether the produced microproteins are relevant for human development is unknown. Using a human embryonic stem cell (hESC)-based pancreatic differentiation system, we show that many lncRNAs in direct vicinity of lineage-determining transcription factors (TFs) are dynamically regulated, predominantly cytosolic, and highly translated.

Developmental progression depends on temporally defined changes in gene expression mediated by transient exposure of lineage intermediates to signals in the progenitor niche. To determine whether cell-intrinsic epigenetic mechanisms contribute to signal-induced transcriptional responses, here we manipulate the signalling environment and activity of the histone demethylase LSD1 during differentiation of hESC-gut tube intermediates into pancreatic endocrine cells. We identify a transient requirement for LSD1 in endocrine cell differentiation spanning a short time-window early in pancreas development, a phenotype we reproduced in mice.

Epididymal fusional anomalies have been found to be associated with conditions of testicular maldescent with the several studies investigating this association reporting several variations in epididymal anatomy and epididymal-testicular fusion. To our knowledge, a single case of an isolated lower epididymal pole with a normal vas deferens, dubbed "Epididymal Polar Dissociation", has been reported in the literature. In this report, we report the second case of epididymal polar dissociation discovered in a 17-year-old during surgical management of left testicular torsion.

Four patients with deep neck or retropharyngeal abscesses underwent CT-guided aspiration and drainage from either of two percutaneous approaches. Percutaneous drainage contributed to prompt and/or dramatic clinical responses in all four patients by effecting decompression of the abscess cavities and by improving the ability to assess infectious organisms. There were no complications in this small group.

We describe a patient with a long history of rheumatoid arthritis who presented in full cardiopulmonary arrest. He was given intracardiac epinephrine. Fibroptic laryngoscopy determined the cause of the arrest to be upper airway obstruction from cricoarytenoid joint ankylosis, a complication of long-standing rheumatoid arthritis.

Inverted nasal papillomas are rare tumors in children. Four large series include only a single patient (of a total of 269) younger than 20 years. We report the occurrence of an inverted nasal papilloma in a 10-year-old boy; this tumor exhibited clinical and histopathologic features identical to those of similar neoplasms in adults.
