Status epilepticus (SE)-induced Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) frequently manifests as a hemodynamic compromise, including shock, despite heart failure therapy. This can result in life-threatening events that pose significant diagnostic challenges. We report the case of a 57-year-old woman who was successfully diagnosed with TTC, without hemodynamic compromise, and treated.

We report that hypersplenic hematologic changes in EHPVO might be eliminated by MPN. Through experience with splenectomy for variceal control with EHPVO, we suspected that spleen might mask MPN-induced thrombocytosis, and that MPN might have a significant influence on excessive thrombocytosis after splenectomy.

Summary Background Data: Molecular mechanisms of the development of remnant PCs following primary PC resection are largely unknown.
Methods: Forty-three patients undergoing remnant PC resection after primary PC resection between 2001 and 2017 at 26 institutes were retrospectively analyzed.
Cushing's syndrome, a clinical condition characterized by hypercortisolemia, exhibits distinct clinical signs and is associated with cyclic cortisol secretion in some patients. The clinical presentation of cyclic Cushing's syndrome can be ambiguous and its diagnosis is often challenging. We experienced a 72-year-old woman with cyclic ACTH-dependent Cushing's syndrome caused by a pulmonary carcinoid tumor.

To obtain highly active endolysins, a diverse library of these endolysins is vital. We propose here microbial single-cell genome sequencing as an efficient tool to discover dozens of previously unknown endolysins, owing to its culture-independent sequencing method.

Evaluating the HOS of the entire rAAV capsid is challenging because of the flexibility and/or less folded nature of the VP1 unique (VP1u) and VP1/VP2 common regions, which are structural features essential for these regions to exert their functions following viral infection. In this study, hydrogen/deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS) was used for the structural analysis of full and empty rAAV8 capsids.

It manifests as hypertension with gonadal dysfunction as the primary symptom. We herein report 17α-hydroxylase/17,20-lyase deficiency (17OHD) diagnosed at the age of 45 years.

However, AAV drug products are inevitably contaminated with empty particles (EP), which lack a genome, owing to limitations of the purification steps. EP contamination can reduce the transduction efficiency and induce immunogenicity.

The model-biomembranes used were dipalmitoyl phosphatidyl choline (DPPC), DPPC-palmitic acid (PA) mixture (DPPC:PA = 8:2), DPPC-Alamethicin (Al) mixture (DPPC:Al = 39:1), and DPPC--Lactoglobulin (LG) mixture (DPPC:LG = 139:1) monolayers, respectively. The quartz crystal oscillator (QCO) was attached horizontally to each monolayer, and QCM and QCI measurements were performed simultaneously.

Most EHPVO patients are usually referred to a gastroenterologist for intestinal bleeding and hypersplenic thrombocytopenia; however, hypercoagulative diseases may be occult in these patients and require anticoagulation. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the clinical characteristics of EHPVO.

This study evaluated the outcomes of patients with UTBAD who needed aortic treatment as well as the impact of the treatment method or indication criteria on their prognosis.
Methods: This retrospective review of 106 consecutive patients with aortic events in the chronic phase who underwent initial treatment for UTBAD between 2004 and 2021 comprised three groups: 19 patients who underwent endovascular repair (TEVAR), 38 who underwent open aortic repair and the medication group that included 49 patients.

NGF induces neuronal differentiation in PC12 cells by activating intracellular pathways via the TrkA receptor, which results in elongated neurites and neuron-like characteristics. Moreover, the differentiation requires both the ERK1/2 and p38 MAPK pathways.

The normal splenic weight is approximately 65-265 g. This study evaluated spleen volume and segmental volume.

We have historically performed liver resections using the Cavitron Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator (CUSA). More recently, we have used new bipolar forceps (BiSect; Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH, Tübingen, Germany) to perform clamp-crush dissection with good results.

In this study, we aimed to clarify the effectiveness of four-time outpatient nutritional counseling in weight-loss prevention compared with conventional intervention limited to one-time nutritional counseling. This study was designed as a retrospective cohort study.

The patient developed a fever and was taken to the hospital. Reduced diffusion in the descending aortic wall along the stent graft was discovered using whole-body diffusion-weighted imaging with background body signal suppression, and stent-graft infection was identified.

It is involved in the production of blood cells and helps filter the blood, remove old blood cells, and fight infection. Partial splenic artery embolization (PSE) is widely used to treat pancytopenia and portal hypertension.
