Hyalinized clear cell carcinoma (HCCC) is a rare tumor of the minor salivary gland, characterized by pale cytoplasm and EWSR1::ATF1 fusion. Recently, new fusions, such as EWSR1::LARP4 and SMARCA2::CREM, have also been identified. Histologically, HCCC closely resembles other salivary gland tumors like mucoepidermoid carcinoma and myoepithelial carcinoma, and there are no specific immunohistological markers for its identification.

Despite bladder dysfunction possibly caused by detrusor sphincter dyssynergia, previous studies reported relatively accepted bladder compliance in patients with HADDS. Objective: The development of acquired middle ear cholesteatoma is associated with a single nucleotide polymorphism, 538G>A, in the human adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette transporter C11 (ABCC11) gene, which is a determinant of the earwax morphotype, such as wet- and dry-type earwax; however, the mechanism underlying this association is unclear. We focused on the earwax pH and aimed to elucidate the mechanism between ABCC11 genotypes and acquired middle ear cholesteatoma.
Study Design: Prospective observational study.
Clinical studies have shown that inhibitors of bromodomain and extra-terminal domain (BET) proteins, particularly BRD4, have antitumor activity and efficacy. The BET protein has two domains, BD1 and BD2, and we previously focused on BD1 and reported orally bioavailable BD1-selective inhibitors. In this study, we obtained a BD1 inhibitor, a more potent and highly selective pyrazolopyridone derivative 13a, and confirmed its in vivo efficacy.

Case Presentation: We report on the case of a 58-year-old male patient who presented with progressive bilateral nasal obstruction, left-sided epiphora, and intermittent epistaxis. Computed tomography revealed a soft tissue opacity in the left maxillary sinus with intersinusoidal nasal wall demineralization, extending into the surrounding ethmoid cells and the right nasal cavity through a contralateral deviation of the nasal septum.
Atypical teratoid/rhabdoid (AT/RT) is a rare and highly malignant tumor of the central nervous system (CNS). It is most commonly found in children less than 5 years of age and is associated with inactivation of loss of function of SMARCB1/INI1. An experimental model for AT/RT is necessary to develop new and effective therapies.
