We examined a phase separation process of a dynamically asymmetric blend of unentangled polyisoprene (PI) and poly(4-ethylstyrene) (PC2St) exhibiting the upper critical solution temperature. PI having the type-A dipole was the dielectrically active fast component, whereas PC2St was the dielectrically inert slow component whose dynamics can be detected by rheological measurements. The pharmacokinetics of compounds comprising hesperetin-7-glucoside with β-cyclodextrin and physically mixed hesperidin/dextrin was compared in 8 healthy adult male subjects in a nonrandomized, double-blind, cross-over, controlled study. We compare the linear and nonlinear rheological response of three entangled polystyrene solutions with the same concentration of polymer, but diluted using different solvents. The three solutions have exactly the same physical tube model parameters when normalized to the same time scale. Accumulations of inorganic nitrogen (NH₄⁺, NO₂⁻, and NO₃⁻) were analyzed to evaluate the nitrogen circulation activity in 76 agricultural soils. The autodegradation-resistant mutant thermolysins (TLNs), L155A (Leu(155) to Ala) and L155S (Leu(155) to Ser), were previously constructed by site-directed mutagenesis to enhance thermostability. For branched polymers, the curvilinear motion of the branch point along the backbone is a significant relaxation source but details of this motion have not been well understood. This study conducts multi-chain sliplink simulations to examine effects of the spatial fluctuation and curvilinear hopping of the branch point on the viscoelastic relaxation. The simulation is based on the primitive chain network model that allows the spatial fluctuations of sliplink and branch point and the chain sliding along the backbone according to the subchain tension, chemical potential gradients, drag force against medium, and random force.

In the latent pro-form of matrix metalloproteinase 7 (MMP-7), the cysteine residue in the pro-peptide binds the active-site zinc ion. Thirty-six bacteria that degraded long-chain hydrocarbons were isolated from natural environments using long-chain hydrocarbons (waste car engine oil, base oil or the c-alkane fraction of base oil) as the sole carbon and energy source. A phylogenetic tree of the isolates constructed using their 16S rDNA sequences revealed that the isolates were divided into six genera plus one family (Acinetobacter, Rhodococcus, Gordonia, Pseudomonas, Ralstonia, Bacillus and Alcaligenaceae, respectively). Furthermore, most of the isolates (27 of 36) were classified into the genera Acinetobacter, Rhodococcus or Gordonia.
