We investigated the drug resistance status of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) focusing on its isolation sites and types of diseases. Materials and methods: A microbiological laboratory database was searched to identify all clinical cultures positive for P.

We present a case of an elderly man with a subcutaneous nodule in his lower leg that had persisted for four decades, accompanied by pain in the last several years. Imaging revealed a 20-mm elongated subcutaneous nodule along with a similar intraosseous lesion in the ipsilateral fibula.

These cartilages included 16 autologous costal cartilages (ACCs), 14 irradiated homologous costal cartilages (IHCCs), 24 autologous nasal cartilages (ANCs), 2 irradiated homologous nasal cartilages (IHNCs), 14 autologous ear cartilages (ECs) and 13 combined cartilaginous grafts.

The current case presents a 76-year-old mobile man with IF on his back. The 33-mm subcutaneous lesion, focally involving the latissimus dorsi muscle, had been slowly increasing in size for 2 months and was clinically suggested to be a soft-tissue sarcoma.

The aim of the present study was to elucidate the histopathological characteristics and pathogenesis of "cysts-LF". Herein, we defined cysts-LF as spinal cysts containing degenerative LF components.

More than 7,000,000 patients died worldwide after being infected with COVID-19; however, no specific laboratory markers have yet been established to predict death related to this disease. In contrast, electrocardiographic changes due to COVID-19 include QT prolongation and ST-T changes; however, there have not been studies on the ambulatory electrocardiographic markers of COVID-19.

In this study, we examined whether IAS could be replicated in the rat brain exposed to a laser-induced shock wave(s) (LISW[s]), a tool that can produce a pure shock wave (primary mechanism) without dynamic pressure (tertiary mechanism). Under certain conditions, we observed astroglial scarring in the subpial glial plate (SGP), gray-white matter junctions (GM-WM), ventricular wall (VW), and regions surrounding cortical blood vessels, accurately reproducing clinical IAS.

Various imaging examinations including CT, MRI, and EUS did not reveal any obvious abnormal findings other than the partial pancreatic atrophy. However, cytological examination of serial pancreatic juice aspiration showed atypical cells.

The second edition of TPS (TPS 2.0), published in 2022, extends these recommendations to the upper urinary tract (UUT); however, there is a lack of comprehensive data on this subject.

The abdominal CT showed wall thickening from the upper to lower the body of stomach, and peritoneal dissemination. The EGD revealed a type 3 large tumor extending about 2/3 of the circumference.

Carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT) has emerged as a promising modality for treating LRRC. This report presents a case of LRRC with sacral involvement that was managed via multidisciplinary therapy incorporating CIRT.

However, information remains limited regarding the pathological significance of ACTN4 expression in upper urinary tract urothelial carcinomas (UUTUCs). We obtained tumor samples from 168 consecutive patients with newly diagnosed UUTUCs (92 with renal pelvic cancers and 76 with ureteral cancers), who were treated with nephroureterectomy or partial ureterectomy, and analyzed the expression of the ACTN4 protein and the amplification of ACTN4 using immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), respectively.

We hypothesized that combining clinicopathologic, immunohistochemical, and fluorescence in situ hybridization methods would allow definite diagnoses. Using formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded blocks, we examined 6 atypical lipomatous tumor/well-differentiated liposarcomas (ALT/WDLPS), 5 dedifferentiated liposarcomas (DDLPSs), 2 pleomorphic liposarcomas, and 1 myxoid liposarcoma (MLPS).

Immunotherapy against HCC has become a promising strategy; however, only approximately 30% of all HCC patients respond to immunotherapy. Here, we report a case of hepatitis C virus (HCV)-related HCC followed by PHA that showed remarkable clinical response to atezolizumab plus bevacizumab (Atezo/Bev) therapy.
Case Presentation: A 78-year-old man with recurrent HCC had a liver tumor with lymphadenopathy.
The patient is a woman in her 80s who underwent a partial gastrectomy for a gastric GIST 14 years ago. This time, she presented our department with upper abdominal distention and computed tomography revealed an 18 cm-sized cystic lesion in the left lobe of the liver. Since a nodule enhancement was observed in the cyst, malignant disease such as hepatic cystadenocarcinoma could not be ruled out and surgical resection was performed.
