Factors associated with HIV viremia in transgender women and transvestites in five Brazilian capitals, 2019-2021: a multicenter study.

Objective: To analyze factors associated with detectable HIV viremia among transgender women/transvestites (TWT) in five Brazilian capitals.

Methods: : This was a cross-sectional study using data from a sample of TWT with HIV-positive serology and detectable viral load (VL), between 2019 and 2021. The dependent and independent variables were, respectively: viral load measurement, socioeconomic/demographic characteristics; alcohol/drug use; and self-perceived mental health.

Impacts of sleep disturbance and work-related life stress on depression among Japanese and Chinese workers.

The present study investigated how life stress and sleep disturbance impact depressive symptoms among Chinese (N = 185) and Japanese (N = 464) workers. Based on a hypothesis that sleep disturbance can cause depression, a statistical model is established, expecting that work-related life stress indirectly increases depressive symptoms by worsening sleep disturbance rather than initiating depression directly. The study also examined the buffering effects of social support on depression.

Dynamics and features of transmission clusters of HIV-1 subtypes in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.

The radiological technologists often assist patients near the X-ray area during mobile radiography. The purposes of this study were to measure the lens dose received by radiological technologists during mobile radiography using radiation protection goggles with a personal dosimeter and a small optically stimulated luminescence dosimeter and discuss the need for radiation protection goggles and additional radiation protection measures.

Impact of covid-19 on people living with HIV-1: care and prevention indicators at a local and nationwide level, Santo André, Brazil.

The world has been dealing with Aids for forty years, covid-19 accentuated societal inequalities and promoted a rupture in care and prevention, including for people living with HIV. We compiled official HIV indicators, analyzed the impact of covid-19 in Brazil, at São Paulo State (SP), and compared it to the municipality of Santo André (in the state of São Paulo), which adopted linkage/retention strategies to mitigate the impact of covid-19. From 2019 to 2020, suppression/adhesion rates remained stable.

Recent HIV infections: evaluation of a simple identification score for newly diagnosed patients.
