Background: Severe hypoglycemia (SH) poses a significant challenge in the management of type 1 diabetes (T1D); however, the factors that offer protection other than diabetes technologies are under-studied. The primary objective of this study was to examine the association between hypoglycemia problem-solving (HPS) abilities and severe hypoglycemic events in adults with T1D using Poisson regression analysis.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 287 adults with T1D (mean age: 50.
Background: FreeStyle Libre uses the algorithm to calculate the sensor glucose (SG) levels. The manufacturer announced that they had changed the algorithm from the first generation (Gen. 1) to the third generation (Gen.

The participants were instructed to perform frequent scanning of the isCGM sensor (10 times a day or more) and ingest sugar when impending hypoglycemia is suspected by tracking the sensor glucose levels and the trend arrow. We conducted post-hoc analysis to identify factors affecting difference in TBR (∆TBR), in time in range (∆TIR), and in time above range (∆TAR).

Initiatives aimed at decreasing the intake of salt are based on the preference by humans for a salt taste. Salt intake behavior appears to be affected by the balance between attraction to a low salt taste and aversion to a high salt taste.

The molecular classification of EnCa in concert with histology was a major step forward. The integration of profiling for mismatch repair deficiency and Human Epidermal Growth Factor 2 (HER2) overexpression, can further inform treatment options, especially for drug resistant recurrent disease.

Unlabelled: Bacteria have two routes for the l-methionine biosynthesis. In one route called the direct sulfuration pathway, acetylated l-homoserine is directly converted into l-homocysteine. The reaction using HS as the second substrate is catalyzed by a pyridoxal 5'-phosphate-dependent enzyme, -acetylhomoserine sulfhydrylase (OAHS).

However, these fugacity models work on the assumption that the concentration of a chemical in each medium is uniform, so they cannot describe the spatial distribution of the chemical. We developed a new fugacity model, termed InPestCFD, incorporating computational fluid dynamics to describe both the time-dependent distribution and the spatial distribution of a chemical in a medium.

Glutamine metabolism has been proposed as a therapeutic target in cancer and several chemical inhibitors are in development or in clinical trials. How cells subsist when glutamine is limiting is poorly understood.

In the present study, we aimed to further analyze its accuracy in detail by conducting a post-hoc analysis of the study.

Responses to first-line treatment are frequent. For many patients, however, responses are suboptimal or short-lived.

It had been reported that AS-CERI had lower activity than AS-STP in biodegrading test chemicals, and that biodegradation was accelerated by increasing the volume of the test medium. However, these phenomena have not been clarified from the perspective of the microbiota.

This study aimed to investigate the protective and risk factors for impaired awareness of hypoglycemia (IAH) in adults with T1D.
Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled 288 adults with T1D (mean age, 50.
Uterus transplantation (UTx) is now an alternative to surrogacy and adoption for women with uterine factor infertility to have children; however, there are still unresolved clinical and technical issues. One of these is that the graft failure rate after transplantation is somewhat higher than that of other life-saving organ transplants, which is a critical concern. Herein, we summarize the details of 16 graft failures after UTx with living or deceased donors using the published literature in order to learn from these negative outcomes.

Although universal health coverage (UHC) was reported to reduce unmet health care needs, it might not be sufficient to reduce unmet mental health care needs from a clinical perspective.

In this study, the bioaccumulation of nine chemicals of different molecular weights absorbed the intestinal tract was evaluated in fish using the everted gut sac method. The amounts of chemicals that passed through the intestinal membrane after a 24-hr exposure were significantly decreased for chemicals with MW≥548 and D≥15.

In this study, intraoperative findings of ovarian swelling (OvS) and the clinicopathological features of patients with EC with or without ovarian metastasis were analysed to identify risk factors for ovarian metastasis. Patients who underwent surgery for EC between 2012 and 2019 at our hospital were enrolled.

Arginase is a ubiquitous enzyme hydrolyzing l-arginine to generate l-ornithine and urea, whereas DcsB hydrolyzes N -hydroxy-l-arginine (l-NOHA), an arginase inhibitor, to generate l-ornithine and hydroxyurea. We determined the crystal structure of DcsB associated with l-ornithine and that with the tetrahedral derivative of 2(S)-amino-6-boronohexanoic acid, whose boron atom forms a covalent bond with an oxygen atom bridging two manganese ions at the active center.
