The effect of actual and expected income shocks on mental wellbeing: Evidence from three East Asian countries during COVID-19.

This paper evaluates the effects of economic shocks to current and expected income reduction on mental wellbeing. We use individual-level data from three East Asian countries; China, Japan, and South Korea, during the early phases of the pandemic when the COVID-induced economic shocks were severe. The findings reveal significant causal effects from current and expected income reduction on different aspects of mental health deterioration, including anxiety, trouble sleeping, boredom, and loneliness.

A Hospital Performance Assessment Model Using the IPOCC Approach.

Background: Developing a practical model to assess hospital performance improves the quality of services and leads to patient satisfaction. This study aims to develop and present such a model using the IPOCC (Input, Process, Output, Control and Context) approach.

Background: By considering innovation as a new project in hospitals, all the project management's standard steps should be followed in execution. This study investigated the validation of a new set of measures in terms of providing a procedure for knowledge management-oriented innovation that enriches the hospital management system.

Methods: The relation between innovation and all the knowledge management areas, as the main constructs of project management, was illustrated by referring to project management standard steps and previous studies.

A Stochastic Model for the Ethanol Pharmacokinetics.

Background: The aim of this study was to propose a new stochastic model to study the time course of ethanol elimination in human bodies.

Methods: The times and amount of alcohol ingested are assumed to be random in controllable intervals. Constant elimination rate follows zero order kinetics and is replaced by first order kinetics when the effects of alcohol increase due to alcohol ingestion.
