Optical Devices in Tracheal Intubation-State of the Art in 2020.

The review article is focused on developments in optical devices, other than laryngoscopes, in airway management and tracheal intubation. It brings information on advantages and limitations in their use, compares different devices, and summarizes benefits in various clinical settings. Supraglottic airway devices may be used as a conduit for fiberscope-guided tracheal intubation mainly as a rescue plan in the scenario of difficult or failed laryngoscopy.

Intra-abdominal candidiasis in surgical intensive care unit - epidemiology characteristics and trends.

Inverted Meckel´s diverticulum: a rare cause of ileo-ileal intussusceptions and lower gastrointestinal bleeding.

Intussusception due to an inverted Meckel's diverticulum in adults is rare. We present a case report of a 28-year-old man with Meckel's diverticulum as a cause of ileo-ileal intussusceptions and lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Peritoneal lavage examination as a prognostic tool in cases of gastric cancer.

Introduction: Peritoneal tumor seeding is a common form of recurrence after gastric cancer surgery. The finding of free tumor cells and/or elevation of tumor markers in the peritoneal fluid could predict intraperitoneal tumor recurrence. The results of these examination can be used for indication of aggressive treatment modalities such as hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).

[Management of acute postoperative pain following thoracotomy - state of the art].

Method And Results: Presented paper shows some aspects of occurrence, diagnostics and treatment of acute abdomen diseases--inflammatory and intestinal obstruction--in patients older than 60 years.
