Objective: To develop and validate the content of checklists for safe admission and discharge in Neonatal Intensive Care Units.
Methods: A methodological study conducted between 2018 and 2020 in four stages: 1) literature review; 2) checklist construction; 3) content validity by 32 neonatal nursing specialists from different Brazilian states, predominantly from the southeastern region; 4) development of the final version of the instruments. Validity was performed using a Likert-type scale.

Objective: To explore the effects of a cognitive-behavioral program addressing urinary incontinence on the quality of life of men who have undergone radical prostatectomy.
Method: Randomized controlled clinical trial with patients undergoing radical prostatectomy in an institution for cancer treatment in Brazil. The 34 participants were randomized into two groups: 17 in the control group who received the institution's standard care and 17 in the intervention group who received the cognitive-behavioral program.
Objective: To describe the development and quality analysis stages of a mobile health application for the treatment of urinary incontinence in men after radical prostatectomy.
Method: A technological development study. Eight clinical experts and eight software development experts participated in quality assessment.
Background: Microlab Salmonella is an all-in-one solution for detection of Salmonella O Groups A-E that integrates, in a single disposable device, all elements to perform the analysis: a ready-to-use enrichment broth, a lateral flow immunochromatography test, and a chemical agent for bacterial inactivation. Microlab Salmonella can be easily used on-site and does not require specific laboratory equipment or technical skills. The device is sealed during the analysis, avoiding risks of contamination, and is therefore safe to use in food production environments.

As disease outbreaks are often prompted by these acute phenomena, it is essential to develop eco-innovative strategies that can efficiently improve farmed fish resilience, especially under sub-optimal rearing conditions, thereby ensuring a sustainable aquaculture production. This study aimed to unveil farmed juvenile white seabream (, 28.

Method: Scoping review, conducted in February 2023, according to the methodology of the Joanna Briggs Institute. The guiding question was: what and how should adult/elderly tracheostomy care be carried out by the individual/family/caregiver in the home environment? Studies published in Portuguese, English and Spanish were considered.
Introduction: Cardiovascular risk calculators (CRC) are not locally validated and calibrated. Surrogate biomarkers of insulin resistance had identified subjects at higher risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Aim: Establish the frequency of surrogate biomarkers of insulin resistance and their correlation with CRC in primary prevention non-diabetic hypertensive subjects.
Predatory mites biologically control a range of arthropod crop pests and are often central to agricultural IPM strategies globally. Conflict between chemical and biological pest control has prompted increasing interest in selective pesticides with fewer off-target impacts on beneficial invertebrates, including predatory mites. However, the range of predatory mite species included in standardized pesticide toxicity assessments does not match the diversity of naturally occurring species contributing to biocontrol, with most testing carried out on species from the family Phytoseiidae (Mesostigmata).

IL-13-mediated mucin hypersecretion requires conversion of secretoglobin-positive club cells into goblet cells through suppression of () and induction of (). IL-13-mediated mucin hypersecretion may also include modulation of purinergic and muscarinic receptors that control basal and stimulated mucin secretion.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAgricultural practitioners, researchers and policymakers are increasingly advocating for integrated pest management (IPM) to reduce pesticide use while preserving crop productivity and profitability. Using selective pesticides, putatively designed to act on pests while minimising impacts on off-target organisms, is one such option - yet evidence of whether these chemicals control pests without adversely affecting natural enemies and other beneficial species (henceforth beneficials) remains scarce. At present, the selection of pesticides compatible with IPM often considers a single (or a limited number of) widely distributed beneficial species, without considering undesired effects on co-occurring beneficials.

Objective: The present study aimed to evaluate the association between muscle mass variation, estimated by different equations, during hospitalization with the energy and protein intake and clinical and nutrition outcomes of patients using nutrition support.
Methods: A prospective observational study with patients older than 18 years in use of enteral and/or parenteral nutrition therapy and monitored by the Nutritional Therapy Committee between December 14, 2021, and December 14, 2022. Data were collected from the electronic records and were applied in 11 equations to estimate the four different portions of muscle mass of patients receiving nutrition support at the beginning and the end of hospitalization.
Walnut represents one of the most allergenic nuts that can be found as a hidden allergen. In this study, sandwich ELISA and lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA), based on the determination of Jug r 1, were developed to detect walnut. Cross-reactivity was only found with Pecan nut among a panel of 88 food ingredients tested.

Interleukin 1β (IL-1B) is an inflammatory mediator with pro-mucin activities that increases the number of mucus-producing goblet cells. IL-1B-mediated mucin production in alveolar adenocarcinoma cells requires activation of the cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB).

Here, we tested the hypotheses that, during presumptive sleep, a murine model of tauopathy (rTg4510) exhibits: 1) increased breathing instability; 2) impaired chemoreflex function; and 3) exacerbation of these effects with tauopathy progression. rTg4510 mice initially develop robust tauopathy in the hippocampus and cortex, and eventually progresses to the brainstem.

The aim of this study is to analyze the knowledge of health professionals working in the pandemic about the application of ethical criteria in decision-making in situations of resource scarcity. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive, and quantitative survey study, conducted from June to December 2020, with health professionals working in the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil.

Unlabelled: This study investigates how compatibility and perceived enjoyment affect the link between intention to use and actual technology use in Romanian preschool education, building on earlier studies.
Methods: 300 participants were invited to participate in this research from 15 Romanian counties. 182 preschool teachers' questionnaires were utilized for data analysis after the return and screening of responses.
Objectives: to assess the psychometric properties of the Latino Students Patient Safety Questionnaire, Brazilian version.
Methods: a methodological study, carried out between April 2020 and January 2021, with 218 nursing and medicine students. Structural and discriminant construct validity were assessed by confirmatory factor analysis and cross factor loadings.
Objectives: to assess the factors associated with the safety culture of patients under dialysis in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: a cross-sectional and analytical study, carried out in Minas Gerais, with 134 professionals from three dialysis services. The Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture, adapted for Brazil, was used.
Purpose: One of the procedures that has become very popular thanks to the advantages of minimally invasive approach is the laparoscopic treatment of inguinocrural hernias. As a disadvantage, it would imply a longer learning curve when compared to the conventional approach. There is no consensus about the number of procedures required to dominate this surgical technique, since according to bibliography it ranges from 20 to 240.

The participants were 16 male soccer players aged 12-14 years old who participated in a couple of training sessions per week between August and November 2021. We used Playr Catapult GPS devices to assess the effect of the intervention on the total distance covered and total sprint distance in the task of playing SSGs.
