This study highlights the importance of human milk in providing anti-severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 immunity to newborns. The highest protective activity of human milk against COVID-19 was found in colostrum from infected mothers. Neutralizing activity was associated with high levels of specific IgA.

In response to a high-fat/high-cholesterol (HF/HC) diet, marginal zone B (MZB) cells activate an atheroprotective programme by regulating the differentiation and accumulation of 'poorly differentiated' T follicular helper (Tfh) cells. On the other hand, Tfh cells activate the germinal centre response, which promotes atherosclerosis through the production of class-switched high-affinity antibodies.

While MRI is the principal tool available to neurologists for monitoring clinically silent MS disease activity and, where appropriate, escalating treatment, standard radiology reports are qualitative and may be insensitive to the development of new or enlarging lesions. Existing quantitative neuroimaging tools lack adequate clinical validation.

Completion hemispherotomy provides an opportunity to finish the disconnection. We describe the use of magnetic resonance-guided laser interstitial thermal ablation (MRgLITT) for completion hemispherotomy.

The aim of this study was to explore capacity outcomes in five dimensions - resources, infrastructure, knowledge and skills, culture and climate, and engagement and partnership - achieved by child welfare jurisdictions who received Center services. Analyses describe the capacities targeted for improvement and the amount and type of services provided by Centers; assess the relationship between services and capacity increase; and explore whether that relationship differs depending on the jurisdiction's level of foundational capacity.

Objective: To describe outcomes of a multimodal diagnostic and therapeutic approach comprising invasive intracranial monitoring and surgical treatment and compare the complementary techniques of open resection and magnetic resonance-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy.
Methods: Clinical and radiographic data were prospectively collected for pediatric patients undergoing surgical evaluation for TSC-related DRE at our tertiary academic hospital.
There are clinical and radiological phenotypes characteristic of neurosarcoidosis. Histopathologic confirmation is preferred, however, biopsy is associated with a significant risk of morbidity when only eloquent neural structures are involved and where there is no systemic disease. We present a series of patients with isolated neurosarcoidosis and suggest circumstances where an empirical, closely monitored, trial of tumour-necrosis-factor-alpha inhibitor therapy can improve outcome and diagnostic confidence.

The atom is trapped in an optical potential, which is created by retroreflecting a red-detuned focused laser beam from the resonator surface. We counteract the trap-induced light shift of the atomic transition frequency by superposing a second laser beam.

Cystathionine gamma-lyase (CSE)-derived H S is implicated in the regulation of cell differentiation and the aging process, but the involvements of the CSE/H S system in myogenesis upon aging and injury have not been explored. In this study, we demonstrated that CSE acts as a major H S-generating enzyme in skeletal muscles and is significantly down-regulated in aged skeletal muscles in mice.

: Individuals who engage in alcohol and cannabis co-occurring use are at heightened risk for negative outcomes than individuals who only use alcohol or only use cannabis, but far less is known about implications of alcohol and cannabis co-occurring use for prescription drug misuse (PDM).: This study aimed to (1) identify whether co-occurring use was linked with greater risk for PDM across ages 18-60 and to determine ages at which this association was strongest, (2) determine whether associations remain after controlling for pain severity, and (3) test for gender differences.: Cross-sectional data were from Wave 1 of the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) study.

Objective: NR4A orphan receptors have been well studied in vascular and myeloid cells where they play important roles in the regulation of inflammation in atherosclerosis. NR4A1 (nerve growth factor IB) is among the most highly induced transcription factors in B cells following BCR (B-cell receptor) stimulation. Given that B cells substantially contribute to the development of atherosclerosis, we examined whether NR4A1 regulates B-cell function during atherogenesis.

We investigated the application of consensus scoring using the freely available and open source structure-based virtual screening docking programs AutoDock Vina, smina and idock. These individual programs and several simple consensus scoring methods were tested for their ability to identify hits against 20 DUD-E benchmark targets using the AUC and EF1 metrics. We found that all of the consensus scoring methods, however normalized, fared worse, on average, than simply using the output from a single program, smina.
