Background: The breast-sharing technique uses the lower quadrants discarded from a contralateral symmetrizing reduction mammoplasty to reconstruct the breast after mastectomy. The aim of our study was to revisit this old technique and to improve its vascular predictability by preoperative computed tomography angiography (angio-CT) and intraoperative indocyanine green (ICG) imaging.
Methods: Twenty-six patients were enrolled and assessed by a preoperative angio-CT to localize and evaluate the internal mammary artery perforator (IMAP).
Background: Over the past two decades, liposuction techniques have significantly evolved, moving from basic fat removal to sophisticated methods aimed at improving safety, efficiency, and cosmetic outcomes. This study evaluates the efficacy and safety of a combined approach using ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL) and helium plasma radiofrequency (HPRF) technology to enhance skin tightening without the need for extensive surgical interventions.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 639 patients who underwent the combined UAL and HPRF liposuction technique.
Objectives: The management of idiopathic subglottic stenosis (iSGS) poses a clinical challenge due to high recurrence rates following both endoscopic and open approaches, often leading to tracheostomy. The activation of abnormal T-cells and cytokine pathways has been linked to iSGS pathogenesis. Autologous adipose tissue centrifugation yields lipoaspirate, offering optimal anti-inflammatory effects and biocompatibility widely utilized in various medical settings.

The overwhelming post-splenectomy infection (OPSI) is a feared late complication of splenectomy, with high morbidity and a mortality rate of up to 50%. Although the management of this syndrome is the duty of clinical physicians, the interest of plastic surgeons in OPSI is related to the injury that can occur in tissues with an end circulation, such as the limb extremities, nasal tip, and lips. Background: The aim of the present study was to show that the Infection Risk Index (IRI), based on only 3 factors (wound classification, American Society of Anesthesiologists score, and duration of surgery), can be used to standardize selection of infection high-risk patients undergoing different surgical procedures in Plastic Surgery.
Methods: In our Division of Plastic Surgery at Modena University Hospital, we studied 3 groups of patients: Group A (122 post-bariatric abdominoplasties), Group B (223 bilateral reduction mammoplasties), and Group C (201 tissue losses with first intention healing). For each group, we compared surgical site infection (SSI) rate and ratio between patients with 0 or 1 risk factors (IRI score 0 or 1) and patients with 2 or 3 risk factors (IRI score 2 or 3).

Here we describe the case of a 60-year-old-woman with systemic sclerosis sent to our Scleroderma Unit to treat digital stumps. The stumps were successfully treated with autologous fat grafting (crown-shape infiltration). Our technique of autologous lipotransfer improved wound healing in a scleroderma patient with stump-digital ulcers where all other options failed.

Observations: A 76-year-old otherwise healthy woman presented with a right upper eyelid swelling. Her medical history was recorded.
Introduction: Reconstruction of the nipple areola complex (NAC) is the final and easier step of breast reconstruction. However, surgeons, especially if trainees, typically have not developed tattoo skills during their training.
