Purpose: To estimate the pupil size (at the iris plane) under photopic (P PH ) and scotopic (P S ) conditions after phacoemulsification with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.
Methods This Retrospective Observational Cohort Study Included: 190 virgin eyes from 190 patients who underwent cataract surgery with IOL implantation. Data collected with Aladdin (Topcon), AS-OCT MS-39 (CSO), and iTrace (Tracey) were SimK, mean pupillary power at 6 mm (MPP), anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT), axial length (AL), lens rise (LR), P PH and P S before and after surgery at 30 days, dysfunctional lens index, and opacity grade.
Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Corneal-Wavefront guided transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy (TransPRK) after corneal collagen cross linking (CXL) in keratoconic patients.
Methods: In this retrospective, non-comparative, consecutive case series, 39 keratoconic eyes underwent Corneal-Wavefront guided TransPRK for the correction of aberrations at least 4 months after conventional CXL at SEKAL Rovigo Microsurgery Centre, Rovigo, Italy. Two eyes (5%) underwent a secondary laser retreatment for the improvement of post-operative visual acuity and were not included in this retrospective analysis.
Purpose: To evaluate whether the refractive changes induced by excimer laser surgery can be accurately measured by corneal ray tracing performed by a combined rotating Scheimpflug camera-Placido-disk corneal topographer (Sirius).
Setting: Private practices.
Design: Evaluation of diagnostic test.
Purpose: To compare the anterior and posterior corneal curvature in eyes with previous radial keratotomy (RK) to normal unoperated eyes.
Methods: In this retrospective observational case series, 29 eyes from 29 consecutive patients were analyzed and compared to a control group of 71 unoperated eyes. Corneal imaging was obtained by a rotating Scheimpflug camera (Pentacam, Oculus Optikgeräte GmbH).
Purpose: To evaluate the results of combined aspheric wavefront-guided transepithelial excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK) to correct aberrations and refractive errors after radial keratotomy (RK) or keratoplasty.
Setting: Sekal Rovigo Microsurgery Centre, Rovigo, Italy.
Methods: This retrospective noncomparative consecutive case series comprised eyes having corneal wavefront-guided transepithelial PRK to correct aberrations followed by PTK (60 to 70 mum depth) without masking fluid.

Purpose: To evaluate the effective optical zone (the part of the ablation that receives full correction) among eyes that underwent laser epithelial keratomileusis (LASEK)/epi-LASEK treatments for myopic astigmatism.
Methods: Twenty LASEK/epi-LASEK treatments with a mean spherical equivalent refraction (SE) of -5.49±2.
Purpose: To compare the possible advantages and disadvantages of adding an alcohol solution (20%) to the epi-LASIK procedure. This study focuses on flap making, haze, and pain with and without alcohol.
Methods: A prospective study was performed on 45 patients to compare epi-LASIK with epi-LASIK plus alcohol (ie, epi-LASEK).

Purpose: When calculating the power of an intraocular lens (IOL) with conventional methods in eyes that have previously undergone refractive surgery, in most cases the power is inaccurate. To minimize these errors, a new IOL power calculation formula was developed.
Methods: A theoretical formula empirically adjusted two variables: 1) the corneal power and 2) the anterior chamber depth (ACD).
Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of the pupil center as an anatomic landmark for excimer laser treatments.
Setting: Sekal-Microchirurgia-Rovigo Centre, Rovigo, Italy.
Methods: Pupillometry with the Costruzione Strumenti Oftalmici S.

Purpose: To assess the advantages and safety of using mitomycin C (MMC) with laser epithelial keratomileusis (LASEK) by measuring high order aberrations of the cornea.
Methods: We analyzed the results of 86 eyes that had LASEK plus a brushstroke of MMC 0.01%.
Purpose: To describe a new technique for excimer laser corneal surgery: laser epithelial keratomileusis (LASEK).
Methods: We report 76 eyes with spherical equivalent refractive myopia ranging from -8.00 to -22.
