Improper electronic waste management in the world especially in developing countries such as Iran has resulted in environmental pollution. Copper, nickel, and manganese are from the most concerned soil contaminating heavy metals which found in many electronic devices that are not properly processed. The aim of this study was to investigate the biological removal of copper, nickel, and manganese by Bacillus species isolated from a landfill of electronic waste (Zainal Pass hills located in Isfahan, Iran) which is the and to produce nanoparticles from the studied metals by the isolated bacteria.

In this study, the effect of carotenoids in carrot extracts on Candida species including Candida albicans ATCC1677, Candida glabrata CBS2175, Candida parapsilosis ATCC2195, and Candida tropicalis CBS94 was investigated.
Methods: In this descriptive study, the carrot plant was prepared from a carrot planting site in December 2012, and then the characteristics of the plant were determined.
Analysis of anticancer drugs is very important and necessary for the correct administration of them in the human body. Electrochemical behavior of 6-thioguanine (6-TG) has been studied using a carbon paste electrode modified by 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (ionic liquid) (1E3MIBF4) and CuO nanoparticles (CuO/1E3MIBF4/ CPE). Using square wave voltammetry showed the linear relation between net anodic current and concentration of 6-TG in the range of 70 nmol L?1 to 520 ?mol L?1 6-TG with the detection limit of 20 nmol L?1 6-TG.

The bacteria that were isolated from contaminated sites in an oil refinery plant in Isfahan, Iran, were identified by 16S rDNA sequencing as Achromobacter kerstersii strain LMG3441, Klebsiella pneumonia strain SKBA6, and Klebsiella variicola strain SKV2. According to the results obtained from different tests for the production of biosurfactant among three strains, only Achromobacter kerstersii strain LMG3441 was selected for further study.

The experimental results showed that the carbon nanotube paste electrode has a highly electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of Hcy in the presence of CHP as a mediator. Cyclic voltammetry, double potential step chronoamperometry, and square wave voltammetry (SWV) are used to investigate the suitability of CHP at the surface of MWCNTPE as a mediator for the electrocatalytic oxidation of Hcy in aqueous solutions.
