The hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a major cause of acute viral hepatitis worldwide. HEV is classified into eight genotypes, labeled HEV-1 through HEV-8. Genotypes 1 and 2 exclusively infect humans, while genotypes 3, 4, and 7 can infect both humans and animals.

Herein, we present a highly efficient dual-functionalized acid-base nanocatalyst, denoted as FeO@GLYMO-HEPES, featuring sulfuric acid and tertiary amines as its dual functional components. This catalyst is synthesized through the immobilization of 4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-piperazineethanesulfonic acid (HEPES) as the source of these functionalities onto magnetite (FeO) using 3-glycidoxypropyltriethoxysilane (GLYMO) as a linker. Characterization studies confirm the integrity of the FeO core, with the GLYMO-HEPES coating exhibiting no phase changes.

In this study, boehmite nanoparticles (B-NPs) were prepared by a simple process and then their surface was modified by (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (3-APTES). The modified B-NPs (3-APTES@B-NPs) were functionalized by 2-benzoylpyridine Schiff-base ligand toward the immobilization of the Schiff-base 2-benzoylpyridine ligand on the 3-APTES@B-NPs's surface (2BP-Schiff-base@B-NPs). Finally, copper ions were coordinated with the supported Schiff-base ligand on B-NPs toward the formation of the final catalyst (Cu-2BP-Schiff-base@B-NPs).

2,3-Dihydroquinazolin-4(1)-one and tetrazole are a class of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds that play an important role in drug design and are an important part of many biological and industrial compounds. In this study, aluminium-based ionic liquid grafted onto a biochar surface (BC/[TESPMI]AlCl) was synthesized and used as a catalyst for the synthesis of a series of biological derivatives including 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1)-ones in ethanol at reflux conditions and tetrazoles in PEG-400 at 110 °C. All products were obtained with good selectivity and yield of 90 to 97%.

In this research, a novel nanomagnetic tetra-azamacrocyclic Schiff base complex of copper(ii) was produced a post-synthetic surface modification of an FeO surface by a silane-coupling agent that contains acetylacetone functionalities at the end of its chain. Moreover, the target Cu complex that involves a tetradentate Schiff base ligand was obtained from a template reaction with -phenylenediamine and Cu(NO)·3HO. Furthermore, the prepared complex was nominated as [FeO@TAM-Schiff-base-Cu].
