This case report describes the first case of acute generalised erythematous pustulosis (AGEP) following cervical spinal surgery. A 74-year-old male post-operatively developed a painful, exudative bullous rash progressing from the posterior cervical wound site. Initial management with antibiotics for suspected cellulitis failed, leading to further investigation and a diagnosis of AGEP by dermatology.

Subarachnoid haemorrhage from aneurysmal rupture is a common emergency in neurosurgery. Depending on aneurysm position, morphology, size, associated clot, and symptoms, it is either managed by endovascular occlusion or by clipping. Insertion of an external ventricular drain (EVD) is one of the most common and most important lifesaving procedures encountered in the neurologic intensive care unit, but often done by the junior members of the team. A good number of complications may follow the insertion of EVD. In the available literature, only one case was reported with the placement of EVD in suprasellar cistern.
