The operating comfort of a paraglider is created by the aerodynamic parameters as well as the mass and packing volume of the wing. A classic paraglider has upper and lower covers. To reduce the material and manufacturing costs as well as protect the environment, it is possible to introduce a single-skin wing.

Article Synopsis
  • - The article investigates how material degradation affects the deformation of paragliders in flight, using both experimental tests and numerical modeling to analyze the pressure distribution over the wing and its performance.
  • - Three types of Polyamide 6.6 fabrics were tested for effects of thermal, UV, and flexing degradation, revealing that flexing damage significantly impacts air permeability, while UV aging affects mechanical properties more severely.
  • - The research provides a methodology for predicting paraglider material behavior, potentially enhancing safety and efficiency in design and prototyping, and suggests future studies could explore complex damage models during emergencies like collapses.

The aim of paper is to determine experimentally and numerically the strength characteristics related to the paraglider wing with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy of applied materials. The applied method consists in theoretical modeling supplemented by the tests of material parameters. First, the set of 10 lightweight fabrics was selected for the tests; the samples are representative for these structures.

Objectives: Sleep disorders in the form of insomnia or excessive daytime sleepiness have their health and social consequences. The aim of the study was to evaluate the frequency of sleep disorders, quality of life and the pattern of psychoactive substance use among the students of Polish universities using CAVI method.

Methods: The Athens Insomnia Scale, the Epworth Sleepiness Scale, and the Manchester Short Assessment of Quality of Life were used.

We discuss the chiral decomposition of non-symmetric stacking structures. It is shown that the low-energy electronic structure of a Bernal stacked graphene multilayer deposited on h-BN consists of chiral pseudospin doublets. N-layer graphene stacks on the h-BN layer have N/2 effective bilayer graphene systems and one effective h-BN layer if N is even or [Formula: see text] effective graphene bilayers plus one graphene monolayer modified by an h-BN layer if N is odd.

Background: A sensitive liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) method for the analysis in a small volume of plasma of 14 tyrosine kinase inhibitors currently used (imatinib, dasatinib, ibrutinib, ponatinib, trametinib, sunitinib, cobimetinib, dabrafenib, erlotinib, lapatinib, nilotinib, bosutinib, sorafenib, and vemurafenib) has been developed and validated. This multianalyte liquid chromatography coupled with MS/MS assay is of interest for anticancer drug combination therapy.

Methods: After a simple protein precipitation of plasma samples, the chromatographic separation was performed using an ultra performance liquid chromatography system coupled with MS/MS in a positive ionization mode.

A precise and accurate high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) quantification method of rifampicin in human plasma was developed and validated using ultraviolet detection after an automatized solid-phase extraction. The method was validated with respect to selectivity, extraction recovery, linearity, intra- and inter-day precision, accuracy, lower limit of quantification and stability. Chromatographic separation was performed on a Chromolith RP column using a mixture of 0.

Background And Purpose: To analyze the changes in spino-pelvic parameters after surgical treatment of lumbar isthmic spondylolisthesis.

Materials And Methods: Sixty patients recruited from a group of consecutive series of 128 cases with isthmic spondylolisthesis operated on between 2002 and 2012 in the Department of Neurosurgery, Tarnow, Poland. All patients were operated on by the same surgeon (the first author).

The influence of the substitution of methanol in place of ethanol during the ultrasonic production of antimony sulfoiodide (SbSI) nanowires is presented. The new technology is faster and more efficient at temperatures greater than 314 K. The products were characterized by using techniques such as powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), optical diffuse reflection spectroscopy (DRS) and IR spectroscopy.

The structure of two bisurea organogels was examined by Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Organogels were prepared in benzene at different concentrations of gelator in order to determine the effect of concentration on the assembly of organogelator molecules. This work examined two types of bisurea organogelators, both with dodecyl alkyl tail groups.

We report organisation principles and three year experience of Acute Pain Service in general surgery clinic. 481 patients were treated after abdominal and vascular interventions, hemorrhoidal varices and mammectomies. Continuous epidural, combined spinal-epidural, intrapleural anaesthesia and continuous brachial plexus block were used for pain control.
