Risk Factors for Thromboembolic and Bleeding Events in Patients After the Fontan Operation (Insights from the National Database of Health Insurance Claims of Japan).

Risk stratification of thromboembolic events (TEs) and bleeding events is important for the appropriate selection of thromboprophylaxis in patients after the Fontan operation. Therefore, we clarified the risk factors for TEs and bleeding events in patients after the Fontan operation using the National Database of Health Insurance Claims and Specific Health Checkups of Japan. We conducted a retrospective cohort study including 2,515 patients who underwent the Fontan operation between June 2011 and September 2019.
