Background: Locum practice is a non-standard form of employment used to address the shortage of healthcare workers in hospitals. In Malawi, the locum practice is used to improvre the availability of healthcare workers and promote continuity of care. Aim: This study aimed to identify factors influencing nursing and midwifery educators in selected training institutions and clinical sites.
Setting: The study covered one district and four central hospitals, five professional training institutions, Ministry of Health and Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi officials.
Introduction: The case study teaching method is important in imparting critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills in nursing students. The self-efficacy of the nurse educators towards the use of the case study teaching method is a critical aspect of determining the quality of teaching using this method. This study, therefore, aimed at assessing the self-efficacy of the nurse educators towards the use of the case study teaching method in Malawi.
